"Sometimes I wonder if yer as wise as you claim to be, my FRiend...MUD"

Well...uhhhh...mmmmm...yea, OK.
But Mud, one question.
Did I ever make such a claim; or, was it you?
I tend to think of myself as much too modest to make such a remark.
Of course, I could be wrong but if it's all the same to you?
Would you show me where I said that?
*Indulge* me.
Thanx~

"...if you ever had the 'nads enuff to join us fer a FReep, you'd know full well that I was 7'0" tall..."

7'0", huh.
OK...I was off by what, 1'3"?
Sue me.
The *connection* between the size of my scrotum or the number of walnuts contained therein; and, one's attendence at a "Freep"??
Sorry, that one really lost me. ;^)

"...shoot lasers from my eyes, and blow lightnin' bolts outta me arse!!"

Oh that's too easy.
Nawwww I like ya too much kid; so, I'm gonna let those two claims just slide into obscurity.
OK??

"What'cha scair't of, Ol' Man?!..."

YOU!!
I already told ya that, too.
Yesterday. Remember?
What'sa matta wit'chu; can'tcha read?

...btw congrats on the weight loss; great news, no two ways about it.

I fear I risk betrayin' yer confidence, since I cannot recall if this discussion happened on-Forum or off-, but I believe yer Screen Name is a direct reference to an all-knowing computer being in an obscure "Star Trek" show...original cast, of course.

Does this ring a bell, my admittedly wise FRiend?!

BTW...my need to chastise you on yer perceived wisdom is more a result of what I perceive to be an overwrought and undeserved cynicism than an actual inability to process yer intelligence into wisdom. You must believe the unlikely is possible before you can exert the necessary willpower to make the unlikely a reality, my young FRiend.

"Rejoining the gym this evening..."

*Excellent*.
But go *slow* in the beginning.
I know you probably already know that, too; still, just cannot emphasize that one point, enough.

One other thing.
If you've got a basement -- & assuming you haven't already done this -- consider buying a few pieces of gym equipment for your *own* gym.
Nothing "expensive" is called for here.
A decent bench, long bars & casts, dumbells, maybe an "good" Schwinn Aerodyne?
All of which can be had for firesale $$s from the want ads.

You & your bride (*after* you've fed the babies) could go downstairs & do your routines after dinner clean-up's finished, when YOU want to without driving "to" anywhere, being distracted (by you-know-what) or having to wait for machines.
I cannot possibly stress the mulitiple benefits of doing something like this with your lover as you get the rare chance of participating & then watching the results appear before your eyes, together, & under your own terms.

Plus consider this: many opportunities for shenanigans & hyjinks of all manner just seem to just *pop-up* during these kinds of private exersize sessions, eh? :o)
(~a "hidden" fringe benny for us guys, if you please?)

Kids are always just a hollar away upstairs, & safe, too.
~eh?

Anyway, just my .02 suggestion as we've done this for years and I speak from experience.

...can never get too close to your partner, partner. :^)

"I fear I risk betrayin' yer confidence, since I cannot recall if this discussion happened on-Forum or off..."

HA!!
You are Terry McAuliff, YOU ARE TERRY McAULIFF!!!
Now had you said, "I can't remember, ahhh, my mind is *Jello*!"
that would've had me thinking of an altogether different identity.

"...but I believe yer Screen Name is a direct reference to an all-knowing computer being in an obscure "Star Trek" show...original cast, of course."

Of course.
But your interpretation of my motive in choosing said name is way off the mark, Mud.
"Landru" the character-computer was an abomination for a variety of reason; none of which had anything to do with "wisdom," real or percieved.
When it was finally getting done-in by Kirk & Co, I found it was actually funny to listen to the now revealed machine try to out-reason a real (admittedly, "super") human being in the way of our beloved "Captian Kirk."
The name's in & of itself's a parody, Mud.
You're reading farrrr too much into a mere word.

Of course, I had a Lady-friend of mine [~on these BBs] ask if I were the French mass-murderer as described in some novel.
She meant no harm & was really implying nothing sinister, a'tall.
I was duly flattered she went to the trouble of having done some kind of "research," though.
Naturally, I thanked her for her suggestion, assured her I was *not* "that Landru," & sent her on her way to Beta III for true *enlightenment*.

"BTW...my need to chastise you on yer perceived wisdom is more a result of what I perceive to be an overwrought and undeserved cynicism than an actual inability to process yer intelligence into wisdom."

Oh good.
I thought it was because I believed in spanking. ~sigh~
You really shouldn't be "chastizing" anyone, though.
We all bring something a bit different "to the table" & that's the whole point, for me.
Admittedly I personally do not care for certain people's POV & that'd be true even if/when they're right.
I simply do not like them as a person; so, I tend to reject everything from the last letter of their name, on.
That's just me; prejudices, biases, warts & all.
Unless they get "in my face" & as such provoke a cyber-punch to the end of their nose?
I generally prefer to just walk-on by; &, you know that, too.

"You must believe the unlikely is possible before you can exert the necessary willpower to make the unlikely a reality..."

That sounds so half-assed Mud & I mean no disrespect insosaying, either.
My beliefs dictate where I'll direct whatever willpower I so choose.
That decision is based upon my practical life experience & comes down to a percentage of success v.s. the amont of energy expended.
The very essence of "freedom," Mud.
Something we all had better understand before someone else comes along & has us "changed" based solely on what they believe and I don't give a tinker's damn how "justified" or "moral," their intent.
A huge part of our struggle lies in our right not just to be, "right;" but, to be, "wrong," also.
For whatever reason.

"...my young FRiend."

I had a Lady here once tell me, privately, she thought you, "rather impudent." ~I believe was the term she used?
I assured her you were many things; but, "impudent" you were not.

...just young.

HA!!
No 45#ers, kiddo.
But I do have a pair of 50# York casts I'd glady let you have; as, my elbows don't like that, anymore.
You'd have to come-get, though.
Remember, I have no *balls* & as-such don't come east to where the "Freeps" are. :o)

Maybe after the inground's installed next year you guys will make the drive & spend a 4-dayer, here; whereupon, you can take 'em back with you *if* that Ford truck of your's can *stand* the load.
~Best I can do.

No, we've no kids of any age to impede [my] long-range plans.
Even so, if we did I'd create something that'd keep 'em upstairs & outa trouble.
Some kind of "monster" living behind the furnace, might just do the *trick*, eh??

...I'd have thought you more *creative*; whatwith, your being an Architect & all?

I appreciate the opportunity to expand upon my prior comment. Obviously, I have come to trust you due to yer invaluable counsel and wit, but another way I have come to have a deeper understanding of those I FReep with is to meet them face-to-face. AAPATRIOT was--probably still is--an avid GoPatGoer in the midst of the Bush/Buchanan Wars, but when I met him at the Rally for Justice a coupla years back, we posted up on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and tag-teamed passers-by with talk of Liberty and Justice and the Hope of a Reduced Federal Leviathan!! It was priceless, and I respected his "on-Forum" statements all the more when I understood that deep down, we saw eye-to-eye on our Goals fer America, even if we disagreed on the route required to attain our shared golas. I can't say that I've developed the same respect for all the GoPatGoers.

"That sounds so half-assed Mud & I mean no disrespect insosaying, either."

Let me be so bold as to quote Mahatma Gandhi, my FRiend..."Agitation against every form of injustice is the breath of political life."

and..."Islam was born in an environment where the sword was and still remains the supreme law."

and..."We must learn to be self – reliant and independent of schools, courts, protection and patronage of a Government we seek to end, if it will not mend."

Need I say more?! Seriously, do you now understand the impudence of my "You must believe The Unlikely is Possible before you can exert the necessary Power of Will to make The Unlikely a Reality..." remark?!!
