"Well before the millennium, we Americans had already created a consumer and political culture so simultaneously compelling and appalling that other people wanted to kill us." Ted, ol' buddy, ol' pal, if your thinking was the sole representation of our culture, I just might understand their motivations...

At my age I have about 1 minute of real fight in me, I would love to expend 15 seconds of that on this guy.

It is getting rather tiresome; the memorialization of a horrific day should not be in antticipation of greater horror.
As long as this enemy remains faceless and unvanquished, the true nature of terrorism will be the mask of bravado covering the grimace of fear.

the enthusiasm of a nine-year-old on Christmas morning.
the greatest orgy of cheesy sentimentality, naked political opportunism and rank corporate necrophilia
the self-pity, sanctimoniousness and self-congratulations
unintentionally ironic memorial gesture
gleefully gauche gestures
griefsploitation piece
Cheezathon 2002.
mondo memorial madnessI guess patriotism in any form isn't sophisticated enough for this aristocratic loser. His implications and innuendo used to be the norm for the snooty upper class society page, but reality set-in on 9-11 and obviously ruined this guys world image.

This is another one of many of these disgusting blame America first who cares about Sept11th threads I have seen tonight. Am I shocked? Yes, I thought we had changed with those terrorists attacks, but I see that there are those who are so selfish and cynical that it would take more than a horrific loss of life and security to make them give a darn about anyone other than themselves.

By the end of 9-11-02, you may wish Osama had killed you. I doubt that this kind of 'humor' will ever be funny in our lifetimes. Did our parents and grandparents find "you'll wish the Japanese had bombed your city by the time this is over" amusing? Certainly not funny as sarcasm or anything else, but absolutely expected out of Ted Rall.

Dear Ted,
Don't take your head out of your ass for a second,
your fetid, fecal view of the world wouldn't change a bit,
and if you did someone might just punch it back in.
Ted, we are forced to remember the horror, for most of us
there is no escaping it. We will remember what you said,
along with Dashole, and others, and after the next terror attack we will call you to account.

"I think it will be a reminder of the importance of liberty,"promised Ari Fleischer Does this mean Bubba-2 is going to kill the Office of Reich Security and the so-called Patriot's Act?
BTW,ya just gotta wonder what the Muslim fundies think about the USA holding celebrations all day to commemerate Bin Laden's victory.

I think the fact that it took almost six days for anyone to notice and post this column, is all you need to know about Ted Rall.

His real objection to the sentimentality of the media, is that they are not concentrating on bashing capitalism, Bush, hetorsexuals, white people, God, and family.
I am sure that the liberal media will get back the above and true agenda next week.
This week is for ratings from Americans who love their country.
