It's truly frightening that there are people on Earth that can make liberals look almost pious and civilized.

Shalom.

It would not be politically correct but the ragheads would be more plaint if they thought Bush was psychotic.

If Bush started talking like Patton and nuked Mecca for good measure I think they would change religion.

I've read recently that the legal age for marriage in Iran is 13. The point of the story was that this was due to recent legislation that raised it from age 9.

The Koran allows marriage at age nine. Since the Muslims use a lunar calander, she can be married at 8 years and 8 months old if the country is run under strict Islamic law. (I thought Iran was under strict Islamic law, my bad.) In fact, Mohammed married his last wife when she was 9 and he was in his 50's. But all religions and cultures are equal and we musn't be judgemental . . .

"I read somewhere on here that the only time Islam will be a religion of peace is when WE are all dead."

I know why someone said that, but the reality is, even that isn't true. If everyone in the world were Muslim, the Muslim sects would fight among themselves

"I don't think him calling them ragheads would help our image on the world front,do you?"

At this point, I don't really care what our 'image' is on the world front.

Local people have called for the man, who has been arrested, to be hanged, but under Iran's Islamic law only the father of the victim has the right to demand the death sentence.

So he chops off his seven year old daughter's head?

Religion of peace indeed < sarcasm off >

Mecca reads "mostly cloudy today and 9000 degrees

Shouldn't that be "mushroom cloudy today, tempertures in the low to mid 9000s and hot winds nearing 1000 kph"? Baghdad first though. See if that encourages the others. Nuking Mecca, unless absolutely neccessary, would be like a guy stirring up a fireant mound with his reproductive organ.

Come on. The girl is 7 and there is no way to confirm her virginity except AFTER beheading her? This seems too crazy even for those wacky Iranians.

I don't think the father even bothered to check. Do you? I'm sure it was done in a rage...

What did he do to the Uncle? Why nothing of course, as it turns out, the Uncle did not defrock the seven year old. Besides the seven year old asked for it, she was born female, and might have shown far too much fondness for Unk.

Want to know what is more insane than this? The International community and the U.N. expecting us to "negotiate" with these maniacs.

I know! We have to "honor" their culture, even if THEY don't honor ours!

When I was younger, I use to laugh when my grandfather use to say the world was going to hell in a handbasket. I'm not laughing now.

This was mentioned by Micheal Savage tonight, with the comment, 'yeah, that's the kind of religion we need to learn about / what we need in this country.' (Said very sarcastically as another example against the liberals in this country that seem to think we need to understand the 'Islamofacists,' and why they hate us so much...question should be why we hate them; firt of all, 911.

Actually, Mohammed married her when she was six and supposedly consumated the marriage when she was 8 or 9. I read an on-line interview with a female Iranian (Supreme Court equivalent?) judge who decried the sad state of affairs for Iranian women in marriage. She went so far as to say that in principle a father could give away an infant in marriage.

This law was based on the fact that Mohammed married Aisha with her father's consent when she was six. And what's good for Mohammed is good for the gander.

An article on women in Iran here

Very interesting - thanks for the post. I owe God a huge "thank you" for having me born in America. I used to laugh at people who said Islam is demonic, but the more I learn about Islam the more wicked I see it to be. Buddhism, Taoism, Falun Gong, etc. seem silly or misguided, but none of them reeks of evil like Islam.

I was of the same opinion until 9/11. I even held Islam on a higher level because it was monotheistic. I've learned a lot since then and I've come to the same opinion you have.
