Islamic news interrupted by hardcore porn

Viewers of Iran's Islamic News Network were shocked to find their broadcast interrupted by hardcore porn.

Residents watching the daily news in Hamedan, a province renowned for its religious fanaticism, were treated to a surprise three-minute clip of graphic sexual scenes.

The distribution of porn in Iran is punishable by execution.

"It was an immoral and dirty sex film - in fact it's the dirtiest thing I've ever seen," complained one viewer.

According to Tehran daily Jomhurieh Islami, the state-run News Network have confirmed the incident and are launching an investigation.

ACTUALLY, what--50-75 years ago, the Soviets et al calculated that increased porn, increased subclasses in contention with the rest of the society; increased crime etc. etc. would all work nicely to help bring down our society. They invested quite a lot of millions in putting like minded people in key universities and doing everything they could to begin to fracture our society from within--especially through immorality as well as different classes--sub-cultures within the society at the rest of society's throats--like blacks, women, native Americans, hispanics etc.

Looks to me like they've been great successes in such goals and actions.

It used to be that allegations of such were snooted at. But given the wealth of material available from Soviet and East German archives--the validity of such has been proven.

Well, I wouldn't just isolate one factor, because it's usually a combination of certain factors that causes something to happen. Being from PA, I know the Amish inparticular adhere to strict non-violence, so that they're not even supposed to defend themselves if someone breaks into their house to kill them. "Turn the other cheek" and all that. Now if they followed scriptural passages professing violence against the enemies of their religion like Islamics do, they might likewise identify western society as their enemy and try to destroy us.

Another reason we don't hear much criticism from them is probably because they are taught to remain as isolated from the modern world as possible, and are not out there viewing our media or walking around our society too much. Also, I think there are more than enough Christians out there who are resentful of sexual liberation in various forms, and you can hear them speak out about this often. If your parents forbid you to do something and say it's wrong, but then you watch your neighbor doing it and having a great time, I think you'd become resentful. He's breaking the rules and getting away with it! The Amish react to this by avoiding all contact with the modern world, the Christians react to this by complaining about it, and the Islamics react to it by waging jihad.

I would also point out the stuff about the 72 virgins as tieing Islamic terrorism to sexual repression. It's a pretty simple logical deduction that if you're forbidden something here on earth, but promised gobs of it in heaven, you might prefer to send yourself to heaven. I don't believe Christian sects are holding sex out there as that kind of ultimate goal.

Also, what I see more in the Islamic world is projection on all kinds of levels, that our society is responsible for the state of their societies. Even in the most intellectual circles of their society, there is a focus on how their civilizations used to be great, and we somehow stepped in there and plundered them down to a pathetic level so we could improve ourselves on their backs. I think they are jealous of our sexual liberation for one and jealous of our economic and cultural dominance on the other hand. Again you could say a lot of the rest of the world is jealous of us, but they don't want to kill us. The problem happens when you tie this resentment into some of the other tenets found in their ideology, "kill the infidels and enemies of Islam" for one.

The biggest concern is that Muslim women learn that they are capable of enjoying sex, and that there are men capable of and concerned about satisfying women.

Well the Soviets had a lot of ideas that didn't quite work out the way they planned. ;) They had a lot of ideas about what makes a society good or bad, and suffice it to say they were completely wrong on most of those tenets. There was an article by some ex-Soviet guy arguing against all kinds of freedom because it helped to bring down his glorious Soviet Union.

I'm loathe to believe that all the changes in our society that some conservatives hate were brought about by the Soviets. After all they wanted to make us communist too, and that didn't work out. Am I supposed to believe every other cultural influence they might have tried on us was successful except for that? And then I'm also to believe that some hidden "Big Brother" influenced our culture to do certain things and somehow our free will was subverted. I don't think conflict between the races, etc., was something that started in the Soviet era.

As far as sexual revolution and so-called "immorality," I'd have to see the chain as to how this could bring down society. How could doing something that has been at the core of human evolution and survival for longer than any society has been around somehow be something that brings down a society? Sexual freedom is just as vital a component of a free society as any other harmless personal freedom should be.

I would be more inclined to believe that sexual repression is a tool of tyranny used to stifle and control a society. Remove that distraction and completely independent and personal way a person can find satisfaction in life, and you create a person more in control of the state or the institution, more dependent on them for their fulfillments and satisfactions in life. This is something that we have been stuck with for so long because of the pernicious way that religious forms of tyranny and subjugation so powerfully self-replicate through the generations more than most non-religious institutions have been able to do with their doctrines.
