Cue thick Russian accent:

Two weeks after mass media are all talking about Bush’s novelty.

Indeed, Hussein is maybe a tyrant, but he is surely not a lunatic.

Blair will definitely say yes, whereas Putin’s answer will probably be negative. Fifty thousand soldiers is an army, rather a strong one, if it has a UN mandate.

I wonder if Pooty-poot would be happy with 25,000.

I heard this idea on the news last night, it is utter insanity. This is the liberal mindset in action that creates Vietnams and Koreas.

Actually not a bad idea. We march in with 50,000 troops and one inspector......Saddam knows he is going to be outed and won't stand for that.....he blusters and orders his army to resist. We pop that army and say that Saddam has now resisted inspections and will be removed.

I actually like just removing Saddam alone better but hey, whatever gets the job done.

Something's been lost in the translation here. Perhaps Bush will propose a military occupation of Iraq to facilitate inspections as an alternative to war. That's an alternative to war in that way that asking Iraq to surrender before shooting at them is an alternative to war. But if it gets the Russians excited, well, it's their paper.
