Oooops you sounded French sorry,
anyway Hitler sopped the Panzers because of the British strike at Arras, Rommel said he needed time to regroup because he thought that the British force was far larger when in reality its was only a tank regiment. Hitler said carry on but Rommel said no thinking that anoher attack was on its way so he stopped. Hilter allowed this because of supplies being stretched and allowed the British to escape a few more days. It says all this in Rommel's dairy but he was to get his revenge in the desert though on the same tank battalion that mauled him Arras.
Just thought i'd add a bit.

*Not to mention that the Brits had better planes and better pilots.....*
*...even though they were outnumbered by the German pilots*

On a sidenote: wasn't it King George the 3rd that addressed Parliament as "My Lords and Peacocks."? (Back during the time of the American Revolution..)

And the French seapower...true. Just look at France's 'battleship(s)' during WWII.....

Actually, France's navy was sunk by the British at the port of Oran during WWII, oddly enough.

After the fall of France, Churchill did not want the French fleet to fall into Nazis hands, so the order was given to the British battleships stationed in the Mediterranean to ask the French commanders to either stand down, sail for America, or be sunk.

The French chose rather gallantly to go down with their ships, rather than to surrender their forces to a foreign power, even if that foreign power was their ally.

Sad but true. It's almost been forgotten now, but the French certainly did die with honor on that one occasion.

I am just going to put one quote here, It is an actual quote from Edward the 1st,

"The French will grovel to anyone who shows strength"

And no it isn't just from "Braveheart", it is an actual quote. And very true I might add.
