I love the part about the networks "managing our anger" by now showing 9-11 images that might provoke outrage.
Now the Rodney King video---we just had to see that 1,435,987 times
or at least the loop right after King threw his punches at the police

If the multilateral world is irrelevant, its because its organs the UN, EU, Nato are diseased and sclerotic, and it has shown no willingness in the last year to address the fact. No greater truth has ever been spoken, and it's a crying shame the libs are still living in fantasy land.

How can anyone top Mark Steyn? For incisiveness and elegance of expression, he takes the gold medal every time he sets pen to paper.
There's this as well: He's his own man, and he needs no one to tell him what's right and what's wrong. Altogether too many of our opinion elite seem to live by the code, "Show me the way the people are going, and I will lead them."

Steyn may be the most powerful editorialist currently writing...

Terrific, even by Steyn standards.

This paragraph really SUMMARIZES it ALL......"The change that occurred on 11 September was a simple one. When Osama bin Laden blew up the World Trade Center, he also blew up the polite fictions of the pre-war world. At Ground Zero, theyve been working frantically to clear away the rubble. Likewise, at the UN, EU and all the rest, theyve also been working frantically not so much to clear away the mess but to stick it back together and reconstruct the great fantasy world as it existed on 10 September, that bizarro make-believe land where Nato is a mutual defence alliance and Egypt and Saudi Arabia are our staunch friends. Even in America, some people are still living in that world. You can switch on the TV and hear apparently sane experts using phrases like Bush risks losing the support of the Arab League. "

The Vietnam-style quagmire crowd made the mistake of assuming the Pentagon is as institutionally resistant to fresh ideas as the average Ivy League faculty or American op-ed page. Steyn. The Best.

the General Militia of Flight 93 I love that line.
To: Pokey78
As UPIs James Robbins wrote, The Era of Osama lasted about an hour and half or so, from the time the first plane hit the tower to the moment the General Militia of Flight 93 reported for duty. What a great statement. And it's this that has the Islamists' panties in a wad: the fact that Americans are not afraid of them and are confident in our ability to take them out for good. One more humiliation for those whose lives are ruled by pride and the constant dread of being humiliated.

Ping it when you get back. Nobody would want to miss this one.
What a great piece. Laser guided arrow straight through the heart. In my next life, I want to write like Steyn.

Another great commentary by Steyn!
Now if we could get the usual Anti-American Conresscritters and effete, Leftist (but, I repeat myself) Senators to read this instead of bloviating away about how we need "more evidence" on Iraq's involvement. They just don't "get it", yet.

The Era of has bin Ladin lasted about an hour and half or so, from the time the first plane hit the tower to the moment the General Militia of Flight 93 reported for duty.
..... on Flight 93, Todd Beamer, Jeremy Glick, Thomas Burnett, Mark Bingham and others ..... effectively inaugurated the new Bush Doctrine: when you know your enemies have got something big up their sleeves, you take em out before they can do it.
Thank God for Our Beloved FRaternal Republic.
And thank God for Our Beloved FRaternal Republic's President and Armed Forces Commander In Chief, George Walker Bush!
Get it, World?
