Was Saddam involved in Oklahoma City and the first WTC bombing?

OKLAHOMA CITY -- With the Sept. 11 anniversary upon us and President Bush talking about a "regime change" in Iraq, it's an apt time to look at two investigators who connect Baghdad to two notorious incidents of domestic terrorism. Jayna Davis, a former television reporter in Oklahoma City, believes an Iraqi cell was involved in the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building here. Middle East expert Laurie Mylroie links Iraq to the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, and has published a book on the subject.

I agree, very odd! As to what to make of it, I wish we knew the full story of his experiences in the Gulf War. We are told very little about it. I have read that he applied for special forces and was turned down. But that might be a blind, in fact that is a standard story for people who have been accepted for secret work. If he was doing that, it would explain why we don't seem to have any details, no army guys doing the obvious thing in the press of "my days with McVeigh". (Or are there such articles and I never saw them). Also, I wonder if McVeigh underwent a religious conversion over there.

I would also like to know why the Western powers disgracefully joined Iraq in the first Gulf War, in the so called "tanker war", covering for his agression, shooting down a civilian Iranian aircraft, and bowing to Sadaam when he showed his contempt for the US by firing a missile into US Stark, with the deaths of more than 30 crew.

I'd not thought of that, either. No, I'm not aware of a single article tracing McVeigh's experiences in the Gulf War. I've no idea what unit he served in, where he was posted or what his duties were.

The stories seem to stop with "Gulf War veteran".

I thought it was funny when he was asked "Why is this story coming out now?" and he had no answer.

I recall Richard Reeves book on Kennedy that delved into the hidden diplomacy to the Cuban missile crises that nobody was aware of at the time. Bottom line, Kennedy was in direct contact with Kruschev throughout and a deal was made that was not revealed til many years later that allowed the situation to de-escalate. Kennedy saved face and came off looking strong, but what he really did was pull the missiles already deployed in Turkey and promise not to assasinate Castro.

I get the impression the same thing is going on here. There is some serious deal making going on behind the scenes and maybe an agreement was reached between the time Morrison agreed to do the show and the time he actually appeared, so he needed to de-escalate.

Are you suggesting that Morrison made some kind of a deal with someone in the government? Or are you suggesting that Bush is bargaining with Iraq and told Morrison to back off? Please explain..thanks...

I don't have any information on who it is making deals with who, but I don't suspect Morrison is anything more than a bit player in the whole affair. I am just a skeptic. After seeing how the Brodderick story and others like it are treated by the mainstream media (in contrast to Lewinsky), I tend to think nothing of this nature gets airtime unless someone has an agenda they are pushing. Lisa Myers first discussed Brodderick about 1 year before the interview actually hit Dateline. The story was known here on FR months and months before Dateline and we knew it was supposed to air in January before it was spiked until after the impeachment decision. Why? And just like the question asked of Morrison, why is this coming out now? How long do you think Morrison knew about this story before he finally wrote about it? Davis appeared on O'Reilly long, long ago so clearly this is not a new story even to the establishment media. There has to be a bigger reason why this is getting attention. Unfortunately, I doubt very much the reason has anything to do with getting to the truth.

I disagree. If someone in the Bush administration was behind this, it would have been on the front page, not the editorial page.

The WSJ took what it considers to be a big risk in covering this story, and, after watching that interview, I can see just worried the editors are about covering their backsides, in the event Bush chooses to ignore it.

I'm hopeful their desire to win a Pullitzer outweighs their concern about being labeled "tinfoilers."

At the same time, I'm hopeful they'll give credit where credit is due.

You really are a hopeful girl. I commend you for your positive thoughts. But it was only the single bullet theory and Arlern Sphincter until the sheeple were deeply asleep enough to spill a little more. It seems like it's all under control, and this story will dissappear soon I fear, Fox seems to have dropped it already. It's not even on John Gibson's section on the web. This is not to be touched, although it would serve to convince the moronic public that we should drop SadMan.......as if we didn't have enough reason. I really think this is not just about oil as some say, I think we want, in the end, the peoples of the mideast to throw off their iron-fisted rulers, and become democracies. This wording just goes to show how sick these bastards are. TIME says there are two reasons to read and BELIEVE these investigations. The first - if you're a NUT........the second - if you are a right-wing hawk and need a war! I hate these people. This is how words, read by the general moronic public, can subliminally affect judgement. Thank God nobody reads the damn magazine anymore.You go into a dentist's office these days and there's an issue of TIME from July 1973 concentrating on the psychological effect of bell bottoms on adolescents! p.s. by the way, I, for one, am tired of the word "conspiracy" being given such a negative connotation these past decades. The word has to do with a plot or connivance. The only thing I can say at this point is that if anyone had suggested six months ago that the Wall St. Journal was going to devote nearly its entire editorial page to this story, he or she would have been laughed off the pages of FR, let alone anywhere else.

If you want to see this story move forward -- everybody reading this thread should copy and/or link Morrison's articles to two emails. One should be sent to your local newspaper, and another to the editors of a newspaper in Europe, doesn't matter which. Sign your real name, and mention whether you have any connection to the OKC Bombing, or any other terrorist event.

This is how the left does business. If you don't believe me, try it and see. Not everyone will dismiss the Wall Street Journal as easily as Time did.

I cancelled my subscription in 1967.

Their Thomas Sancton wrote slanderous things about Ted Maher (search FR for current thread) and refused to answer my letters correcting him.

Glory, I hope you are CORRECT. With all the lies and worse through Waco, Foster, Brown, Flight 800, Flight 587, OKC, etc., it surely is time for a little truth. But again, I fear the cover quilt is very thick, well-constructed and owned by some very wise (in their own way) people. There has been little light on the other issues, at least not enough light to educate a substantial number of the American public. That won't change, in my mind, any time in the near future. I hold out little hope, but I'm in the mood for a miracle in this age of the internet! After all, they pulled the nine miners in Somerset out of much trouble, maybe indeed miracles are on the way!
