I agree, very odd! As to what to make of it, I wish we knew the full story of his experiences in the Gulf War. We are told very little about it. I have read that he applied for special forces and was turned down. But that might be a blind, in fact that is a standard story for people who have been accepted for secret work. If he was doing that, it would explain why we don't seem to have any details, no army guys doing the obvious thing in the press of "my days with McVeigh". (Or are there such articles and I never saw them). Also, I wonder if McVeigh underwent a religious conversion over there.

I'd not thought of that, either. No, I'm not aware of a single article tracing McVeigh's experiences in the Gulf War. I've no idea what unit he served in, where he was posted or what his duties were.

The stories seem to stop with "Gulf War veteran".

Doubly odd...
