I'll make this short and sweet. I have not seen evidence for a reason to invade Iraq or demand a regime change there.
Okay, Saddam gassed his own people twelve years ago or so. There have been multiple accusations of his development of weapons of mass destruction, including biological and chemical weapons development.
All the TV footage I see of Saddam Hussein is about 10 years old. Show me the evidence.
I'm sure that worked well in Germany way back when. Actually, it's working quite well in 2002 America.
There has already been enough ties linking Iraq to funding and assisting that indicates there is more than what they are telling the public, and thats okay. I dont need to know; I respect our security. People gripe about a "lack of security" and then grip when there's too much. Go figure.
Facts, evidence, that's all.
Speaking of Germany, you never replied to my post where I drew a parallel between Iraq and Germany. What gives?
2) He purged his border to his south when he invaded Kuwait. (1990)
3) He purged his border to his west when he invaded the kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Khost) (1991)
4) Redefined 'eco-terrorist' when he blew the oil fields and flooded the persian gulf with oil. (1991)
5) Repeatedly, knowingly and willingly locked up our fighters in the no-fly zones. (1991 to present)
6) Broke his promise to the world and kicked out weapons inspectors. (1998)
7) Harbored the worlds most murderous Islamic terrorist, Abu Zabada(sp?), up until his death. (2002)
Bottom line? Saddam hasn't had a year of peace since he's siezed power. He's been a threat to every country, both near and far, for almost a quarter century.
So I take it you opposed the attack on Afghanistan sans specific public evidence of bin Laden's involvement in 9/11?
Well, that is our worry about Henry Kissinger. He is why we won't sign on to a International Criminal Court.
The situations are anlagous in the least. For one, North Korea has no oil. For another, NK has China next door. And a third is that NK does not mean anything to the Pan-Arab/Radical Islam movement. There are many other differences, which are obvious, at least to me.
Yes, I have family over in Germany, and many other places. Why don't you go fly a kite since there is a series search for the evidence going on here.
I wish more people would.
People gripe about a "lack of security" and then grip when there's too much. Go figure.
Some people will never be satisfied with anything. Obstinate in their endless cynicism...
Well, fighting a war on two fronts is a tough thing to do. I'm not sure what we are doing in Afghanistan still, seems to me we still have quite a few folks over there and for good reason
I just don't want Bush to be pre-mature and feel we have to go when we are not ready as a country to see body bags come home.
If we go, looks like we are going alone.(Maybe Britian)
It will be a little different than the gulf war.
No, it's not; however, I'm sure you're aware that a large volume of information remains classified long after its intelligence value has expired, because the revelation of the information would compromise the source, which remains of high value.
Think about it...If the local polizei marched into your house and walked directly to the secret, stow-away panel where you keep your weapons, confiscate them, and walk out...you would automatically have a short list in your mind as to where they obtained the information as only a finite number of persons, all of whom you trust, could have offered up that info...
I'll be satisfied with as much evidence as can reasonably be spared.
Enough other comments have already been made regarding the appeasement aspects of allowing Irag to flagrantly violate the negotiated terms of peace to which they agreed in '91.
Ok, Now if the administration presented "facts" what would make you believe that those facts were not fabricated? If this administration were so inclined it would be VERY easy to fabricate just about anything. The fact is that the administration could have made the anthrax mailings an Iraqi operation with no trouble at all but it has not.
