WASHINGTON (AP) Anti-globalization demonstrators, relatively subdued since the Sept. 11 terror attacks, are preparing a clamorous return to the streets this month when the World Bank and International Monetary Fund meet.
Protest organizers said Tuesday they expect thousands to turn out on the weekend of Sept. 28 outside the Washington headquarters of the global financial institutions. The demonstrators oppose policies they say harm the environment and people in poor countries.

'Cuz it's painful and could result in death?
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't choke anyone who claims to have read this thread (and the posts showing our tremendously successful rallies in the past against these protestors which clearly have never been pro-global), and yet can't give us one ounce of credit for figuring out what's going on in our back yard."
I sincerely believe some folks are worried about our presence conceivably riling the Left...folks actually believe there's a hidden trove of RATS out there that we need to avoid gettin' worked up. And I think a lotta folks have never seen how good-natured the DeeCee FReepers are--in addition to being honorable patriots--and how this cheery determination and steadfastness wins over the crowd and the legal authorities.
"Oh, and give me one good reason why Brat -- after claiming he was going to march with THEM because he was anti-IMF and World Bank too -- totally shut up after I posted from their website showing they were no such thing."
I had a li'l chat with brat, too, but I'd prefer allowing him/her to speak fer himself/herself. Sometimes folks would rather walk away from a thread than admit that their prior words were spoken with less than a full understanding of the facts in the case.

Yo, FTH...someone told me that if we Stand Our Righteous Ground against the anti-American, pro-Terrorism Enviro-Nazis on the 28th of September in Washington, DeeCee, it'd mean that we're pro-Globalism, pro-World Trade Organization, and pro-International Monetary Fund!!
I disagree...MUD
Twizzlers are for when we want to just go into sugar overload seizures. No time for that this month.
Chocolate chip cookies - not just for breakfast anymore!
I don't have the time lately, and it sure looks like I won't be having much anytime soon. I have to get out to some large chain store and buy large sized printer cartridges and other supplies and get hoppin' on making many signs for many events.
Stock tip, guys... buy 3M (tape), Avery (markers, labels), HP (paper, printer supplies), Office Depot (posterboard, etc.)...
For the record, when asked by the reporter how I should be identified for the story, I told him, "co-leader of the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic." Somehow that ended up as "organizer for Free Republic"--which I am not.
I sometimes find it more therapeutic to bang one's head on the keyboard, as it's the cause of most of the stress.
Yep...and sometimes ya just feel like yer beatin' head against the wall and leave outta boredom...thanks fer doin' such a good job takin' point on this thread.

It's amazing how much confusion a little terminological discrepancy can cause. If those peaceniks had chosen to protest against the alleged "capitalism" or "warmongering" or "homophobia" or "racism" or [insert any liberal scareword] of the IMF & co., no Freeper would have had any problem with a counter-protest. But they labeled their bogeyman as "globalization," and they managed to turn Freepers one against the other. As if the Rats (or Pali terrorists, or Communist dictators for that matter) didn't claim they were for "freedom," or "against poverty." As if the term "liberal" hadn't meant "pro-capitalism" before the 20th century, the exact opposite of what it means now...
Given that the lefties' hypocritical hijacking of "anti-globalism" wreaked so much havoc here on FR, the very gathering place of those who see through leftist hypocrisy, I think there is a danger that it may confuse people who are not so politically literate even more. So I think it's important (not only for the DC Chapter, but all Freepers) to educate the public on how the "anti-globalist" hirelings are in fact pro-globalism.
Good luck to you guys the DC Chapter when facing these Commie henchmen!
:-)
I would let this thread die and repost the protest w/out AP's confusion.
