God bless you for your sentiments which are right on the money ... and God grant that millions will acquire such sentiments and the cajones to act upon them in their daily lives.

I can testify, that acting on them, while it may engender risk, is the glue that keeps this nation together and the protien that feeds it. I can also testify that there is a power, greater than us all, that lends support to those willing to stand and supports the cause of liberty. I have seen it and felt it in my onw meager attempts. It is the same power, that same Creator that supported and nourished our founders.

May many millions more stand and declare their beliefs and then act them out in their daily lives at home, at work, at school, in the community, in the state ... and in the nation.

As an American I believe America is great not because of a piece of real estate it occupies, but rather because of simple truths our forefathers had the courage to proclaim:

As an American I believe that we have been a blessed country for over two hundred years and can continue to be blessed IF we acknowledge all our blessings and correct our many wrongs, shortcomings, sins and sins of omission. We need to be proud to be Americans and we need not be ashamed to be Americans. We have so much to defend but we also need to restore so much that has been lost to future generations. Our children need to be taught to love our country. They need to know the sacrifice that created our freedom and they need to learn to be accountable for every liberty we still have. I lived in Germany for three years and was so glad and happy to return to the United States. I missed many things about this land of round doorknobs, some insignificant, others more profound. I missed my family and friends of course but I also missed the land where I can achieve and work without permission from some government entity. I missed our wonderful suburbia and our shops and our clean, bright, grocery stores full of healthful produce. I missed our church and church family. I missed the feeling of belonging and not sticking out as a sore thumb just because I am an American. I know that many have been shaken by the events of September 11th and no longer feel safe in this land. But, I do. I am thankful that I had a country to come home to. I hope we can preserve it because if we don't there is no other country in the world that can take its place. Thanks Shen for posting this thread.

English should be declared the official language of America. English is the international language and the reason it is the international language is because it is the language of the most powerful country on earth – the United States of America. You cannot be an airline pilot unless you speak English. You cannot be employed on a cruise ship unless you speak English. English is required in schools around the world. Why shouldn’t English be required of every American – because it is "racist" to propose such a thing? The story of the Tower of Babel is one of the oldest stories in the world and it perfectly illustrates where this country is now headed. Once we lose our ability to communicate with one another, we cease to exist as a nation. "Ebonics" is utterly absurd. It is just another in-your-face-America attempt by malcontents with an axe to grind to undermine our great nation and to excuse laziness. Instead of pushing "Ebonics", community leaders should be encouraging people to master our native tongue, which will provide them with the tools needed to compete in our society.

It seems to me that all nations have done that throughout history. Most have done it through conquest. We simply back a faction of a particular country that we believe that would support our interests. Because our leaders are mortal we have sometimes made mistakes. However, our foreign policy is not determined on these exceptions but on the whole and in that regard can only be seen as benign.

As an American I am beginning to believe that there is nothing that you like about America. Why don't you focus on that. You have the freedom to post your anti-American opinions on this forum but that is not what this thread is about. Why don't you run along to a Democrat site. I am sure you will feel much more comfortable among your own. Your WAR against Shen's thread is not very amusing.

I believe that the right to keep and bare arms isn't about hunting or sport shooting. It's about the sacred right and responsibility of protecting my home and family from those who would do us harm, whether they be thieves and marauders, or the agents of a bloated and arrogant government.

I believe that declaring that America's enemies are evil and should be destroyed is merely common sense. Those who call it "jingoism" or "cultural imperialism" or merely "insensitive" are siding with our enemies and should be treated like them.

I believe that anyone who in any way aided or showed sympathy for the barbarians who murdered thousands of our countrymen on Sep 11, 2001, is an enemy of our country and should be treated as such.

I believe God loves America, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with saying that either.
