We give too much and get very little in return. You obviously believe in the theory of redistribution of wealth. Who else in your percentage study gives more? Who has ever offered help to us when disaster strikes?
By the way, the US gives more than foreign aid to these countries, foreign aid is just the gifting of dollars.

"The Shah, Somoza, and Pinochet to name a few..."

Sure sounds easy. I have an idea, let's snap our fingers and bring the Shah back from the dead and install him as the ruler of Iraq.

"Not as a percentage of our GDP"

This is something Jimmy Carter cooked up. He was whining a few years ago that Americans don't give enough to developing countries because the amount we give was a smaller percentage of GDP than other countries give. Never mind that we give vastly more than anyone else. Typical left wing idea.

However, the United States gives less foreign aid as a percantage of GDP than any other country.

That statement is totally untrue!! You were doing ok until you come up with moronic statements like this one.

"You need to control for the wealth of each country by using foreign aid as a percentage of GDP."

I don't think I need to comment. We now know your true colors. See ya!

This knit-picking is getting ridiculous.

So, does anyone have something they'd like to say with regards to your feelings as an American?...aside from the fact, per JohnKasota, that the United States of America is a thoroughly moral bankrupt, self-serving, cheap (GDP%), cruel, bullying excuse of a nation?
