I have decided to score myself by assigning 10 points for every plank I agree with and 0 points for those with which I disagree.
Nothing with which to disagree so far. My score to this point is 30.

Bravo for the Texas Republicans.
Too bad the Log Cabin Society is too far entrenched in the California Republican Party to allow a platform like this to pass.

Well Im a perfect 30 so far ......... wont last! ;-)

I agree with the principle. It's quite another thing to make it a campaign promise, especially when it's spelled out.

Looks good--the only thing missing is any mention about
getting the United States out of the UN.

Bigun? Do you by any chance have links to the previous two articles? I'm not at home and was unable to save them.

It would be nice to see just one Republican group that has the balls to mention our #1 threat in their platform. ILLEGAL ALIENS

Yes, I agree with that plank, and most of the others I read.
I guess that I got ahead of the current discussion, but I thought that the question was something like: Do you agreee with the platform of the Republican Party of Texas?
The 2nd amendment is something very close to me, so I went directly there to see what the plank stated, and I don't agree with that as written.

The most controversial planks seem to be missing from the link, like getting the US out of UN, shutting down a bunch of government agencies, etc. Most but not all of these planks are too generalized to be meaningful, and some are almost akin to supporting motherhood planks. That being said, I supported 20, opposed 12, and have no opinion on one. Cheers.

I am totally in favor of abolishing as many federal government agencies as possible. I'd start with the Dept. of Education.

Re: that platform. So... just what is it trying to say? ;) Actually, my first thought was: Wow!
I am impressed with the boldness of the platform's assertion of its principles instead of just innocuously listing its beliefs in clichéd catchphrases in the hope of a bigger tent.
Cumulative score: 30.

I am not prepared to answer this one yet, due to a question over how a strict interpretation of this plank would impact the F.B.I.
Frankly, I believe that the evolution of the world has mandated some expansion of the federal authority to persue law enforcement on the national level backed by the full resources of the federal government.
I agree with the principle of this plank, but some of the details would concern me. I guess I will go with a 7 on this. Brings me to a 27.
