Your warm graphic of thanks to ohioWfan almost made me cry...so very nice. I am sorry I used the boot camp graphic in one of my posts-hope it did not take away from your version of it.
As for me putting this presentation together, now is a good time for me to thank you...It was truly a joint effort and you are much too modest, as usual, of the Billie touch you add to all of my presentations....Thank you for always giving me more credit than I deserve...
To: Militiaman7
Does that mean when they ask for volunteers, he should take a step backwards? :o)

Good morning, Pip....

Thanks a million for what you both do, selflessly and tirelessly.

It is getting to be a very nice habit seeing you early each morning....Thank you....

"Eric and oWf are not only FR's finest, they are America's finest and they make us proud!"
Wow....you stated that very well...Thank you...
To: lowbridge

My tears were for the pride I read in your words and my pride in the young men and women who serve our country.
I went to a Fresno state football game last night. About 5 minutes before kickoff, two F16's came in low from the south, flew over the goalpost and continued upfield over the north goalpost. What a sight. As the crowd applauded and cheered, I got a little teary seeing the patriotism being displayed by so many.
This is a time when we should all be Proud to be Americans and a time to show our support of our Military.
God Bless America!!

Dear FRiend, Eric is
What a wonderful account!!!! Now I understand why you've been so reticent about the time you spent with him ...... so out of character for one proud Mom .... *grins*
Have you considered keeping a journal and getting it published? You have quite a knack for writing (as well as music and sketching) and a group of essays on your feelings and experiences as a parent might be comforting to other parents as well as triggering many special memories in those who have also been through the adventure of boot camp and AIT. Just look at some of the responses here.
May God continue to bless Eric and to show him the way that He wants Eric to serve Him!
And may God continue to bless Eric's Mom, Dad, sisters, and brother!

I'd just stand still, they might pick the first one to step backwards as the volunteer.
To: ohioWfan
The only time we saw him specifically in the video was when he came running out of the gas chamber flapping his arms, coughing, and trying to yell "Warriors never die" as he threw up all over the pavement. What a great thing to see, as we tried to eat our beef and mashed potatoes. Oh how very funny! There should have been a warning in the accounting of your visit, OWF! My laptop will never recover from the shower of coffee it got from the mouthful I was about to swallow!
I am so very proud of your son Eric, OWF! Make sure he knows how very much I appreciate his service to our country, ok? What a special young man he is!

This is an experience that, no matter what Eric does with his life afterward, will have changed and molded him forever. The US Army is based on moral principles and ideas, and it reinforced the ideas of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage, that we had taught him at home. He is considering what several men suggested to him that he become a Chaplain in the Army, but for now he is training in Petroleum supply, learning to fuel tanks and helicopters, and put out fires, and when he is done, will go to College to discern what the Lord wants him to do with his life, and to await the abundant blessings in store for him.
Excellent write-up and hearty congratulations to you, your son and your family.
I know you are so proud of him, as am I! Thanks!

I have thought about keeping a journal and posting it all together somewhere (never have thought about publishing them).........but you know, I'm not sure I saved all of my updates here on FR. Do you suppose there's any way to find them? Arggghhh!!
To: ohioWfan

To: Billie; The Mayor
At first glance, I thought The Mayor was here serving coffee again. Perhaps he will show up on the long Labor Day weekend thread? Miss him...but sure do enjoy the coffee he sends to us.....

My laptop will never recover from the shower of coffee it got from the mouthful I was about to swallow!LOL, mountaingirl!!
You should have heard the collective "EWWWWW's" from the parents as we sat there at the table trying to eat! Eric's grandma was there, and had to shut her eyes! :o)
