Then Rodriguez went to the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala...

Rodriguez outs himself here as an irredeemable Marxist.

I thought 'H-H' stood for Helley-Hansen.

All the fisherman on the West Coast wear this brand.

'88 is a Nazi number'. What a f***** joke!

Did any of these politically corrected "corporate communicator" types care to ask the clothing manufacturer what the hell the logos on their clothes mean?

It's just a foregone conclusion that it's some kind of white supremacist clothing manufacturer?

If Target investigates and sees that this is why the shirts are being sold, then I don't think that them taking this short off their lines is a bad thing at all. Free-market solutions and all that.

The problem is that we know where this could be heading. There is a Route 88 just a few miles from where I live, and I can just see the protests a few years from now:

"I can't drive to work without my rights being violated! Every time I even go near that evil road I get jittery! I can't sleep at night! If the state won't rename the road then they're jsut as guilty of genocide as those who gassed the Jews! No justice, no peace!"

I'm probably exaggerating...but only a very little bit.

"Target issues nationwide alert to recall white power clothing ('eight eight' and '88')"

Ironically, 88 was the number on Michael Irvin's jersey... which made it a symbol for white powder.

In a related story, it has been decreed that 88 will be striken from the integer set and replaced with the binary 1011000. Anyone who was born, married, or graduated in 1988 will be investigated as a potential hate criminal, as will all owners and renters of property whose street number is 88.

On another thread right now is the following: "ROME, AUG. 27, 2002 (Zenit.org).- The Khartoum government has refused to commute the death sentence imposed by an Islamic court on 88 members of a tribe in western Sudan for attacking a village and killing members of a rival clan. Ali Mohammed Osman Yasin, the Minister of Justice, said the sentences are in "accord with stipulations in the Koran." The government's statements follow an Amnesty International report that said "special courts" in Nyala on July 17 condemned the 88 people, including two minors, to death by hanging or crucifixion. The 88 are accused of murder, ...."

I guess this must be a racist post with all the 88s. 88,88,88,88,88,88! Sounds like the Louis FairyCon math to me.

If "88" and nothing else was on the clothes, I don't think 99.999% of the nation would have any clue what it meant, unless some idiot were to make a big stink out of it.

Also deserving of note: the Target symbol, a red-white-red roundel, is the Confederate cockade as worn by northern supporters of the CSA. The place is obviously a den of white supremacists.
