A nice touch; I appreciate and applaud your taste. But this is perhaps a better outlet for you gentlemen. Somehow I don't see an NRA cap quite coordinating with my cream silk suits at the "tea and scones" events, though. 'Tisn't ladylike. I anticipate wearing the Ronald Reagan cap only to work.

For annoying liberals, my preference is to go to the church at which my family worshipped for 225 years--ruined, snooty, leftist-infested Episcopal Christ Church in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia--and blend in nicely with my English blazer and great-grandmama's pearls. The other parishioners there tend to be denizens of our nation's Department of State, Clinton holdovers. And when all the self-righteous liberals there have accepted me and think I am another well-intentioned pious Democrat like them, I casually begin to speak with the greatest fondness about my shotgun, my deer rifle, my squirrel gun, my 9 mm Browning auto. . .You should see the expressions. It's priceless. They can't reconcile this gracious, manicured blonde lady with icky stuff like guns.

Next week I'm gonna tell 'em about my cavalry saber and my boarding cutlass. I expect them to faint. The men, I mean.

The scene from the Wizard of Oz comes to mind where Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, Tin man, and the Lion come out of the woods into the beautiful area of the city of OZ singing, "We're out of the woods we're out of the dark, we're out of the night..." That must be how you felt climbing out of that cesspool of stupidity you were in today.

At the last rally in D.C., after I'd done my stint, I walked over to the counter rally across the street. I was inobtrusive, but three people from that rally, all college students, approached me. (They recogniized me from having made a "raid" across the street to our rally, a while before.)

These were all middle-class, do-gooder college students, and I was able to have a sane conversation with them (they were not the "Free Mumia" types). I thought it was worth the effort to talk with them, let them know Ii understood where they were coming from. The one young man was intending to go into elementary school teaching. I asked him why, and he said because his father had done that for 20 years. I praised his father and him, for commitment to a career choice that entirely too few young men ever consider.

Anyway, with the more intelligent and thoughtful of the opposition, it is possible to communicate and maybe plant some seeds. It is scary to be among them, though. The "security marshalls" for the other rally were all Musliim men, speaking mostly Arabic, Farsi, whatever, into their cell phones.

U.S. imperialism’s trip wires for World War III extend from one end of the globe to the other. Reagan is now engaged in three wars–in Lebanon, El Salvador and Nicaragua–and in the Caribbean the U.S. troops are finishing off the rape of Grenada. American Pershing 2 nuclear missiles have been deployed in Europe, aimed directly at Moscow–at six to eight minutes striking distance. Decaying capitalism is readying to plunge humanity once again into global war, and lurching toward a nuclear holocaust which threatens the extinction of life on this planet.

Revulsion and opposition to the mass slaughter which is endemic to the imperialists’ class rule is a central part of the Marxist vision of and struggle for a classless, stateless society. The hideous threat of World War III and the bellicose policies of Washington today engender justified fears and inchoate pacifistic sentiments among the world’s masses, both in the Soviet bloc and the capitalist countries, sentiments which can be turned against the imperialist war-makers. The carnage of World War I gave birth to the Russian workers revolution of 1917–because the Bolshevik Party won the workers, peasants and soldiers to revolutionary opposition to their “own” government, and ended Russia’s participation in the inter-imperialist slaughter by replacing the exploiters’ state with a government of the working people. =============================

I guess the Pershing 2 missiles didn't quite do what the commie rag projected. "Rape of Grenada" sounds like it's right out of the RAT playbook. They continue to mock that necessary operation.

I have also noted that similarity when confronting these irrational leftists on several occasions in the past. Perhaps Freepers should consider handing out those little foil sample packets of shampoo when confronting these people in the future...think they would get the message? One would think it would embarrass the h*ll out of SOME of them, at least. (Consider the amusing ramifications if you could get that in front of news cameras..."Conservative activists confront anarchists with hygiene products"...ROTF!)

You forgot to mention the worse thing about them, they vote. It's horrifying to know that all that ignorance gets poured onto a ballot. I wish that voting were limited to only male property owners, lol.

The level of real education (not indoctrination), insight and (yes, I'm gonna say it) spiritual awareness manifest by most Freepers is highly anomalous in the political arena. In addition, DFU is to be applauded for his strong stomach.

Entities such as those observed by DFU are archtypes of those who blindly accelerated the demise of their freedoms in various cultures and then got in the cattle cars believing what the folks with the guns and the whips told them. They woke up, if at all, much too late. This is a very high degree of blindness, indeed.

What it will take for our republic to fully awaken from our sleepwalking to tyranny is something far beyond 9/11. That is now an old and grainy movie in most American memories.

The bigger and bigger government responses even under W are problematic for me as well...what will we do when a Daschle or a Hillary has the reins of Homeland Security in their fists?

Doug you are the greatest. Years ago I went to UCLA to get an MBA and lived in the West LA area for 40 years so I know all about the crazies that congregate there. I have now retired and live in Sonoma Co. in N. Calif. and they are just as crazy up here. You cannot get away from them.
