Ninilchik Alaska - Ninilchik is located in Kenai Peninsula Borough near Cook Inlet. Ninilchik extends from the state recreation area in the north to Deep Creek in the south. The original Ninilchik Village is reached by a side road from Mile 135.1 off the Sterling Hwy. The town is famous for fresh and salt water fishing. Several fairs and derbys promote fishing from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There is a Russian Orthodox Church nearby and the town is well-known for clamming.
Ninilchik Airport serves Ninilchik and is owned by St Of Ak Dot Pf Central Reg. The gravel runway extends for 2400 feet. The facility is at an elevation of 276 feet at a distance of about 3 miles from Ninilchik.
