USO Canteen FReeper Style....FReeper FRiday ....GATOR NAVY ......August 23,2002
FRiends of the USO Canteen FReeper Style and Snow Bunny

Posted on 08/23/2002 1:28:27 AM PDT by Snow Bunny

.

.

If you know a Veteran, someone in your family,
friend of the family, neighbor, who served their
country, take a brief moment of your day to thank them.
Thank them for the sacrifice they made
for the better good of their country.

We at Free Republic, and the USO Canteen FReeper Style,
are thankful for every service member
in our military, who has served our great nation.

So, to the men and women who answered the call,
in both times of war and peace, thank you.

.

Message from Snow Bunny to all those who visit the Canteen.

This is how I think of the USO Canteen Freeper Style.
It is like a cottage down a road,
a place where a weary veteran can spend the night.

Since it opened, it is magical how so many
Freepers who post here, feel it too.
It has been so dear how the Freepers
kept making it a cottage - a home-type of place
that had a huge living room
for them to visit in and a dance floor, a library, etc.

Many Veterans have written to me,
saying that the Canteen is like home
to them for the first time since they served.

This is your Canteen -
a respite from our busy
and sometimes troubling world.
Make yourself at home.

..................................................................................................................................

.

The USO Canteen Honors FReepers
who have served, or are now serving their country.

.

You may have a loved one who has served in the past.
We at the FReeper USO Canteen would like to honor each and every one.

Thank You GATOR NAVY for Serving our Country

HI snippy! There is lots of stuff out there that you don't need a web site to use. I didn't have a site for quite awhile, but the gang helped me get organized. And the graphics wizards here in the Canteen share all sorts of graphics and help on how to make them work. You will have a ball helping us honor our troops. I just learned this past weekend how to upload to my site. (It's still hit or miss, but I'm winning about 80% of the time. Hehe!) And the very best thing of all, all you have to do is ask and somebody knows the answer!

and lots and lots of these little guys don't need a web site.

aboard!

My mom also square danced a lot....all those cute little outfits! But I never learned and I am sorry to say my uncle passed away several years ago :( He was a caller for years in Mankato, Minnesota and around that area.

A male pastor walked into a neighborhood pub to use the restroom. The place was hopping with music and dancing, until people saw the pastor. As the room quieted down he walked up to the bartender, and asked, "May I please use the restroom?"

The bartender replied, "I really don't think you should."

"Why not?" the pastor asked. "I really need to use a restroom!"

"Well, I don't think you should. There is a statue of a naked woman in there -- and she's only covered by a fig leaf!"

"Nonsense," said the pastor, "I'll look the other way!"

So, the bartender showed the clergyman the door at the top of the stairs, and he proceeded to the restroom.

After a few minutes, he came back out, and the whole place was hopping with music and dancing again! He went to the bartender and said, "Sir, I don't understand. When I came in here, the place was hopping with music and dancing. Then the room became absolutely quiet. I went to the restroom, and now the place is hopping again."

"Well, now you're one of us!" said the bartender. "Would you like a drink too?"

"But, I still don't understand," said the puzzled pastor.

"You see," laughed the bartender, "every time the fig leaf is lifted on the statue, the lights go out in the whole place. Now, how about a drink?"

<====Rodeo Music???

Perhaps, I'm clueless; but what is true Rodeo music?? Also, Salsa always confuses me. What's the difference between merengue, salsa, and well...I'll stop!!

Well, no I don't clog. The point is the cloggers can't be stuck in the out house at the rodeo. Who'd go in to watch. My word, what if the floor gave way, where would they be then? No, I think the cloggers need a bigger room.
