Bush says "they say" that he had 4 bullet holes. Who are "they" and was this information in any previous articles released to the public? If Bush is saying that Iraq said there were 4 bullet holes, why would Iraq be talking to Bush...I guess I don't get the significance of this (I probably am a little slow...lol).

Also that bit caught my eye. I don't know if Dubya was just seizing upon the opportunity to say that or if he was literally demonstrating something to Saddam. He shows Saddam that he knows the truth by pointing out the exact number of gunshot wounds and then says "you can't hide forever".

Well, if we didn't do it, I would figure Bush's statement also means US Intelligence also knows Saddam didn't have it done. My reasoning, if Bush gave the details to show he knew and then went on to send Saddam the "you can't hide" message- he would have to have known Saddam didn't do it or obviously Saddam would know he was bluffing.

Then again... Maybe Saddam did do it but Bush is giving away that little detail to remind Saddam that we have people on the inside in Iraq- people who he trusts- and that sooner or later he's going to wake up in Hell and look back at his own corpse with a knife sticking out the back.

Who knows? Wheels within wheels. Maybe Israel did it to send a message to Saddam- "we can get you if we have to- we can strike deep"- to encourage him not to use his Scuds against Israel this time around. They're letting him know maybe that they'll retaliate in a way he doesn't expect.

Ach, questions questions. I just hope I don't die before I find out the answers. I hope someone fills us all in on the details one day.

This brings up a good question. Does this mean he wouldn't lie? Are we about to strike soon? (the treason part aside for now)

If he really gave something away, then yes. However, I don't see anything new.

On the positive side, a constant stream of articles and quasi "leaks" like this will make it very hard for good ol Saddam to tell when some jerk leaks the real thing.

In the meantime, if Saddam is stupid (and he ain't too bright...), he'll do something in response to "leaks" like this. The more we see him respond, the better we can plan for it.

This is the way it works. Plans will have been made. They are constantly being updated and massaged. At some point a go date and hour will be decided. The rubberband will start to wind up so as to be snapped at the go hour. Any time up to that the operation can be halted, and in fact wont proceed unless the final approval is given. Given approval, the operation begins a short phase where it will proceed unless a late decision is made to halt it. This phase usually lasts from time of first launch of combat aircraft to first bombs away ( a few hours ). Lacking a last minute change of mind, the war will begin.

Bush gets mad about the americans killed by terriosts in Isreal, but he does nothing about it. He detests people leaking military secrets, but he does nothing about it. Bush is against terriorism but he has done very little about it. He sounds like clinton used to sound when he told the terrorists that they had better stop doing what they were doing. He didn't do anything about it either.

I am sure he is saying exactly what he has been asked to say by military leadership, and furthermore he is right.

My own date for this is the evening Sep 2/3, and it is to be remembered that the new moon will be Sep 5/6, when if a catastrophe for Islam occurs on that date, it is bad luck for them for a whole generation.
