I e-mailed the photograph you posted to my children.
The boys were 7 & 8 when we left Rapid City, having been to Mt. Rushmore several times in the year we lived there.

Before we left for Alaska, we bundled up our daughter, not yet two months old, in snow suit and blankets, to take a picture to record her 'seeing' the monument..:)))

Then we headed North to Alaska!
