friend of the family, neighbor, who served their
country, take a brief moment of your day to thank them.
Thank them for the sacrifice they made
for the better good of their country.

We at Free Republic, and the USO Canteen FReeper Style,
are thankful for every service member
in our military, who has served our great nation.

So, to the men and women who answered the call,
in both times of war and peace, thank you.

Message from Snow Bunny to all those who visit the Canteen.

This is how I think of the USO Canteen Freeper Style.
It is like a cottage down a road,
a place where a weary veteran can spend the night.

Since it opened, it is magical how so many
Freepers who post here, feel it too.
It has been so dear how the Freepers
kept making it a cottage - a home-type of place
that had a huge living room
for them to visit in and a dance floor, a library, etc.

Many Veterans have written to me,
saying that the Canteen is like home
to them for the first time since they served.

This is your Canteen -
a respite from our busy
and sometimes troubling world.
Make yourself at home.

Lucky you! Only two bouncing around. I can't remember the last time I had only two! LOL This place is a circus right now. It hasn't helped me get caught up tonight. Hard to navigate with kitties zooming up your back and over your head!!!

Did you know I set the all time record for petting each and every Dog I ever passed when I was about 7!!

I used to beg Ma for a Dog, but no, and still I went on petting each and every dog,

as soon as I stop being lazy I will get a Dog, instead of a Cat!!

The kitties got a little too excited the other morning during the feeding frenzy and knocked me down. I've been doing a Boris-Karloff-as-The-Mummy imitation for days. I'm not quite ready to do the Lambada yet but can walk normally again.

Now if we can just get YOU feeling better, we'll all be hunk-dory! Sending positive 'vibes' your way.:-)

I have a dog and a cat. They play together, sleep together and the cat is so cute. She goes up to the dog and puts her paw on his forehead then starts to lick his face to clean it. haahhaa
