Lack of evidence does not prove someone was not there. I believe he made an effort at cleaning up and concealing his criminal acts and largeley succeeded.

Maybe not. All the talking heads have been talking about how if he is on death row, it's lovely & quiet and much nicer than the rest of the prison. Over 600 of them even have their own web sites set up!

I wasn't aware of that. Web sites, yet! I do remember seeing a film about Richard Speck, who murdered 8 nurses in Chicago. He was dressed up in women's clothes, smoking marijuana, and having a grand old party time on death row.

Westerfield is not very healthy looking. Hard time kills a lot of soft guys like him. I don't think he'll last long in prison.

Lack of evidence of one element doesn't invalidate evidence of other elements. Blood/print/hair/fiber - sorry, the defense just did not defuse/cast doubt on these enough to get an aquittal.

When it comes down to brass tacks, the fact is that this guy had the little girl's blood on his clothing and he never took the stand to explain it. While he is not required to take the stand and supposedly no inference can be taken as to guilt if he doesn't take the stand, the fact of the matter is that the little girl's blood went unexplained. Feldman tried to dance around it and explain it away with speculative inferences, but the fact of the matter is that Westerfield himself never explained it.

It's a smoking gun. If the police walk in and you are holding a smoking gun over the body of someone who just got shot with that gun, you'd better take the stand at your trial and try your best to explain it away.

Frankly if the guy was innocent he deserves to be executed for being so stupid as to not take the stand and try to explain why that girl's blood was on him. Since he didn't take the stand, I can only assume that he had no explanation.

Hang him high. He's as guilty as they come.

Oh I wasn't the only one who got flamed, and other than the 4 musketeers, all the other folks were normal and willing to listen and debate civilly.

It's hilarious to see them complain about a little flaming....considering what was going on so much for so long...especially earlier today by their own.

God, once again such ignorance...IF you were truly as up to speed on this case as you imply, you would have known that he already signed his house over to his attorney for the first trial, as well as three patents he owns, so he is quite broke. Of course, the facts shouldn't get in the way of your opinions, should they?
