I wasn't trying to argue the case. Just making an observation about a statement that said that the fact that the parents were swingers is automatic reasonable doubt. That in and of itself is just one fact of many, which can only be looked at in their entirety before it can be determined whether there is reasonable doubt.

I have my opinions about this specific case, but since I'm not a member of the jury, I will keep them to myself.

I agree, and I am female. Around the H2O cooler at work I have overheard stunning denial about DW's guilt, mostly under the "he looks like a nice guy" and "the parent's got what they deserved" heading. All from women, the men wanted to fry him.

I agree with you. I was making a joke. I hate it when slang becomes interchangeable with proper grammar. I recommend the book "Dumbth" by Steve Allen for a broader treatise on the dumbing down of America.

Fine, I'll give you that. But some of them are very new -- like yesterday -- and one said he was a criminal defense attorney. So I remain suspcious of some of these new names suddenly popping up to defend Westerfield, that's all I'm saying. Yes, you are missing something. In this case it had to be 12 for guilty or not guilty otherwise the jury is 'hung' which means either the prosecution can try to work out a deal, drop the charges or retry him.
