Thumbing through my 1960's Berkeley Internationalist Thesarus ... let's see ... here it is: "It's society's fault."

The recent 39th edition has updated that entry to read: "It's the vast right-wing extremist angry white middle-America male property owner's fault."

One commonly finds the type trying to board aircraft, hence the narrow-like-minded leftist "government class's" microscopic focus.

Gives new meaning to "micro-management."

the upcoming Tom Clancy thriller, The Sum of All Fears [uh...wasn't this about russians or nazis or something?].

In the book it was Arab Muslims who blew up the Super Bowl. It was changed to some other group for the movie, but in fairness that was pre-9/11.

Hollywood Now Plays Cowboys and Arabs

I wish. That reminds me of a joke:

Three men are sitting on a bench ...

One's a Texan wearing a Stetson, one is a Muslim wearing a turban, and the last is an Apache with an eagle feather woven in his hair.

The Indian is rather glum and says "once my people were many, but now we are few."

The Muslim puffs up and says "once my people were few, but now we are many."

The Texan adjusts his hat, finishes rolling a smoke, leans back in his chair and drawls, "that's cause we ain't played cowboys and Muslims yet."

If all cultures are of equal value, how do you point out any defects?

I read about these gang rapists--they actually used cell phones to co-ordinate their ambushes. Most of their victims were young teenaged girls. The feminists movement as usual will only voice their concern when it's a white Republican male who is behaving badly.

Whether or not Muslim cultures are more prone to rape is a question we shall explore another day. What's interesting is how easily even this most extreme manifestation of multiculturalism is subsumed within the usual pieties.

I'm of a mind to shove the mass media's pieties down their throat followed by their dentition. WHY isn't this on EVERY Broadcast Media Outlet? WHAT is NEWS, PEOPLE? Knighthawk, Dennisw...Thank you both consecutively and cumulatively for your ping lists...This is very important stuff...Deathcult PING to the world!

Gang rape as a legitimate expression of the campaign for social justice is a privilege reserved only unto a few. Excellent line. We could say the same for terrorism.

Thanks for the heads up this article, Knighthawk. It's right on the mark. I certainly felt like our country was raped after 9-11. And on several occassions I tried to point out to some people on the "blame America" side that they were blaming the victim. Unfortunately, people who blame America (along with Israel) can't see the hypocracy of their ideals.

Mark Steyn is always great, but some of his columns just take your breath away.

This is one of them.

Very sad, scary first-person commentary you give there!

And to be fair, it doesn't apply to all students. Some come in opinionated, willing to take a stand that A is good and B is bad. Some of them are even willing to rethink their positions when challenged. But they're a minority. I wish I had some way of determining which students are likely to be so non-"judgmental," and some good ideas on how to persuade them that making judgments is a key part, indeed the logical end stage, of the "critical thinking" that all teachers seem to think so highly of.

Islamic Republic of Britain. They got the biggest Khilafah movement, also an organization to introduce sharia and many islamic fundamentalists complete with militants. And most politicians are unwilling to stop them, unlike in the Netherlands.

Yes, Denmark In the Netherlands there are no statistics kept officialy (like in France). The police only revealed that all group-rapings were committed by muslims.

A lot of people know about this all, but don't dare to speak up. It's not PC to do so or the multiculturists crack down on them for speaking up.

It will be a sad day if/when America's old friend Britain falls. I've read somewhere that London is already called Londonistan in some circles.

Mark Steyn BUMP and thanks for the ping Sleaveless-who-we-hope-to-see-Saturday :) :) I still chuckle over the article entitled "Forget it boys, you won't pin this one on the President."
So, if the low-interest loan won't jump, the only outrageous Bush-toppling scandal left in play is the fact that in 1990 Harken Energy Corp was a few months late filing a routine letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission confirming that Mr Bush had divested some stock and was blah-blah-blah . . . growing drowsy . . . zzzzzzzz . . . impenetrable technical violation . . . losing the will to type. Oh, pardon me, I dozed off in the middle of the sentence.
I crack up everytime I read it. He is an incredible writer. It takes some amazing writing for me to notice the excellence of the craft - so Kudos Mark Steyn.

It's no different in Sweden. Teh authorities refuse to track teh problem, but people know the truth.
I suppose we are lucky that when my sister realised that she was walking into a heavily Muslim area of Malmo she doubled back.

I believe Western culture -- rule of law, universal suffrage, etc. -- is preferable to Arab culture: that's why there are millions of Muslims in Scandinavia, and four Scandinavians in Syria.

Exactly, and duh?

Bump.

"Why do they hate us?"

Because their culture is about hate, vengence and violence. No matter where you look, in every trouble spot in the world, crazed Muslin fundamentalists are at the root of the problem. They pose a real and dangerous threat to freedom loving people everywhere for they intend to dominate the entire world. The western world must come to grips with that fact. We are dealing with evil, uncivilized barbarians. The only thing their "culture" understands is bloodshed, the only thing their "culture" respects is power. We have the ability to bring them to a complete and eternal "understanding" of our culture. We have the awesome power to enlighten their culture with universal respect for others.

All "cultures' are not equal. If so, Middle Eastern countries would be dealing with the same immigration explosion that western civilizations are experiencing. I am sick of Hate America appeasers who ask, "Why do they hate us? " I'm not interested in nor do I care why. I know they want to kill us, all of us and they will unless we stop them now.

"...crazed Muslim fundamentalists..." will decompose as readily as any other organic matter. Spread judiciously through the former Arab lands, such fertilizer might well mean that green, growing things could spring up to replace the barren sands.

Yes, the Israelis have proven that barren sands can be turned into green productive land in just a few short years.

My hope is that the campus 'radicals' of the next few years - those willing to challenge the accepted gospel - will be conservative. They may be attracted to the ideas of David Horowitz, for example. It is not possible to be a trend setter these days by moving even farther left.

Refusing to make a 'judgment' only seems to apply to traditional American values. Judgmentalism prevails on any of the green, gay, or preferred-by-the-New-York-Times 'core values.'
Maybe you could show dual lists of ideas where groupthink prevails, and where students believe that they are being 'non-judgmental.'
