Nope. The first one is Bosnia and Herzegovina (just in 200 km from Vienna). And it was forced (raped) by NATO and the USA to become the one.
Gentleman who tried, however clumsyly, to prevent this is still on trail in the Hague, the capital of the nation which Steyn predicts would become Islamic too.
It was not actually the first Western (as opposed to merely Western European) nation to fall, though; that was Albania. Albania was once Christian. For a variety of reasons, when Albania was subjugated along with other nations in the area, Albania became Mohammedean whereas other Balkan colonies of the Ottoman remained loyal to the Faith.
Sadly, Albania no longer deserves to be considered part of Europe.
I am a young woman who stands at a not very impressive 5'4". My upper body strength leaves something to be desired. And I am not stupid. I avoid walking around East Baltimore at night unescorted. I remain alert when I am walking through the city alone. I understand that much of the responsibility for my safety rests on my shoulders.
But I also depend upon a larger societal attitude that believes the safety of young women like me is a serious concern. I depend upon a societal attitude that finds the assault or exploitation of a woman to be a hideous moral evil that should never be countenanced, no matter the background of the attacker.
It has become increasingly clear that the worldwide left does not hold my safety as a young woman in high regard. They wish to rob me of my right to carry a firearm for my personal defense. They excuse a man taking sexual advantage of a female inferior... as long as that man continues to genuflect to the appropriate causes. And now, the latest betrayal.
Anger and fear do not even begin to cover what I feel about these latest pleas for "cultural understanding." Here's what I "understand"- if any man touches me- black, white, or brown- when I have not solicited the advance, the next thing he will feel is my hands grasping his genitalia and twisting with all my strength. How's that for cultural understanding?
But you don't oppose the statement above?
I agree on the question of Albania, but what I meant (and what the discussion was about) was a contemporary process, not ancient history.
