Although I suspect that this movie will be viewed more favorably by the public at large than the Democrats would wish, the timing of its release is suspect.

Funny that we haven't heard much about Pelosi's movie on President Bush since oh, around March...

The polls should have closed by then, so it shouldn't have any effect on the voting one way or the other.

"Although I suspect that this movie will be viewed more favorably by the public at large than the Democrats would wish, the timing of its release is suspect." Unless there is a heavy blitz of anti-Bush promos for this movie, I suspect it will have zero effect on the elections -- the polls will have already closed in most of the country when this first airs.

In the evening of the election? Probably not.
I wonder, though, if the HBO publicity machine will crank out advance publicity saying how damaging it will be, how many things it will "reveal". Then it will turn out to be, at best, a milquetoast documentary.

In that case, the movie must really show Bush in a favorable light.
We should ask for an earlier showing!

Exactly. Its the promos that are intended to do damage. I betcha dollars to donuts the promos misrepresent the actual film. And I also think the attempt is to backhandedly stir up resentment or questions regarding 2000 and Florida.
This would be a good opportunity to try and give the average Joe a bit more understanding of liberal bias. Get into a debate about the timing, and even when the libs bring up that the pols will be closed in MOST states, counter with the media calling Florida when the polls were still open in Pensacola. Then its a easy ride back to military ballots, et. al.

The timing is bizarre. The political junkies of the country are going to be watching election returns, not HBO at that hour.

Documentary shows Bush at frat-boy best March 5, 2002
'I look at you and Trent, I see a little chemistry there. You know what I mean by chemistry there?" Then-Gov. George W. Bush, speculating on a relationship between documentary filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi and a campaign correspondent.
Like a fourth-grader forgetting his manners, he chews with his mouth open and talks while chomping on a cheese-and-cracker snack, giving us a disgusting view of the crumbs in his mouth. Celebrating a big primary win, he turns into a cheerleader, spelling out V-I-C-T-O-R-Y.
He scarfs down Cheetos by the cupful. He "bowls" several oranges down the aisle of a bus. He munches on peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches. He calls a young woman "baby" and uses the word "diss" correctly. He defends the rights of others to enjoy margaritas and tequila.
And when he's facing perhaps the biggest crisis of his professional life, he deals with it by donning an oversized, futuristic-looking sleep mask and walking like a mummy while pretending to be blind as he cracks wise toonlookers: "I can't see because I can't hear. I mean, I can't hear because I can't see."
He is George W. Bush, soon to be president of the United States of America, and he is a charming goof.

Remind me not to play chess with you, you think too far ahead. OTOH, this is not intended to be very serious. This is just one of the "thousand cuts". They don't care whether this sticks or not. Just stick it in the back of some people's minds. That's enough.

This is just a way the DemocRATS have figured to get around the limits of the most recent campaign "reform" law. Neither I nor my parents have't subscribed to HBO in several years, mainly because they started airing more and more self-produced programs that promote extreme leftists and pervert agendas, especially their program Real Sex.
To: Southack
And this is why I insisted that we drop HBO. They should list it as DNC in the TV Guide.
