John thanks for making this link to the Scowcroft Group a thread.

Now, we can bookmark and have it ready when some phoney conservative starts posting Scowcroft's pleas to save Saddam as per the blood money from the Opecker Princes and other Islamakazis in the Middle East.

I intend to post it whenever any phoney conservative gets on his Opecker Paid soapbox to defend Saddam and it becomes a thread here on Free Republic. My question to all is: "When, we follow the money to any clown defending Saddam, will the money funding this plea to save Saddam, have come from the Opecker Princes, Saddam himself or other middle east Islamakazi Despots."

We will see a blizzard of these Save Saddam opeds and posts here on Free Republic. It is time to get brutal and ask who is funding the clymer making the plea.

Thanks, John, this thread is now bookmarked for future use.

If we use this logic to discredit Scowcroft, then we must assume the same for the reasoning behind GW giving Saudi Arabia a free pass when they are obviously the government most responsible for funding terrorism.

I'd say the man has a definite conflict of interest issue going on.

Henry Kissinger has his Kissinger Associates, which this time -- in contrast to its shameful coziness towards Communist China -- has not allowed itself to be bought off.

Is there any connection between this group and Scott Ritter?

Thanks for the details on Scowcroft. I became suspicious when the PBS and National Public Radio bamboozled reporterettes started falling al over themselves this morning about the Republicans who are calling for caution against Sadaam. Kookie Roberts said that the Elder Bush was talking to his son through Scowcroft implying that George W wasn't being obedient enough to his more knowledgable dad on such serious matters.

This is from a reply I posted on 8-18 to the thread captioned "Saudis Could Crash US Economy If Us-Israeli Axis Invades Iraq"

3. Saudi Arabia Will Dump U.S. & Dollar Investments - While the Saudi military is negligible except for their early warning system and air force, they are somewhat protected by the Holy places in Mecca and Medina. Any invasion by U.S. troops even near these regions would set off Armageddon in the Middle East so that option is out. Brent Scowcroft, who advised a string of Republican presidents, including Mr Bush's father and one of the Republican party's most...

This is classic: "Any invasion by U.S. troops even near these regions would set off Armageddon in the Middle East so that option is out." Can't have Armageddon being set off.

I read with interest Scowcroft's self-serving op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal advising against an invasion of Iraq. Understand something. Brent Scowcroft is the head of The Scowcroft Group, a consultancy that advises business on international investments. Nothing would be worse for his clients' business than armed conflict and the uncertainty that roils the financial markets with war. That obviously self-serving piece will not affect administration policy and promotes select business interests over United States strategic interests.
