Thanks for the ping. What a great article to read. It shows EXACTLY how petty and silly the carping critics are for begrudging our President time away from the spotlight. Anyone who uses his/her mind for more than "want french fries with that?" decisions knows that it is essential to have quiet time to regroup and "strategerize".

Again, thanks.

President Bush "... said he never forgot for a moment
that the office of the presidency
was greater than the man who held it.
That he was always conscious that he had the office in trust,
and of the privilege it was for him to serve".

(Picture: President George W. Bush--Inauguration Day January 20, 2001)

Thank you Darlin' for the ping. Beautifully refreshing article.

That whole "month long vacation" chatter from the dems and the press was insultingly transparent. As you note, the only people who might care are the "want french fries with that?" bunch. IOW, the democrats core voter.

So what I said to him was this: "Your heart is where America is. Trust it and you'll be right." Which he knows anyway, and which is why we have trusted him with our fates.

Just exactly how I feel Darlin'. Thanks so much for a wonderful article!

You're right - the Dems are cooked and GWB has much longer coat tails than they suspect.

That quote reminded me of how I felt when:
I cast my vote on election day in 2000.
When Gore finally conceded after 35 agonizing days.
On Inaugural Day 2001
On that terrible day in September when the president stood in the cathedral and spoke to the world.

He knows who he is, where he's headed, how to lead, because he has an Anchor - something many leaders forget when they become powerful.

We can expect greatness when our leader begins each day on his knees in prayer.

Good Article...Thanks for the ping

Let me jump ahead here for a moment because the President spoke to us briefly afterwards. He was dressed in jeans and a flannel shirt, relaxed and in a good mood.

AHHHH! cool front in Waco......looking forward to flannel in Htown!!!
