Embattled media mogul Martha Stewart is said to see a political conspiracy behind the deepening investigation into her questionable stock trades, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
"Martha really believes it is the Republicans who are behind this -- and they are chasing her for purely political reasons," a Stewart intimate said this weekend.
"Martha told me that she believes they are doing the very same thing to her, they did to President Clinton. What Ken Starr did. She believes it is nothing short of a witch hunt! They are even digging into her private e-mails! They are demanding to know who she's dated. Martha said to me, 'Can you believe they want to know who I'm dating?' Republicans on Capitol Hill are probing her sex life!"

The close Stewart friend, who demanded not to be named out of fear of being dragged into the investigation, spoke just hours after Justice Department officials sacked her stockbroker's offices - removing boxes of evidence related to the ImClone stock scandal.
"Who runs the Justice Department? Republicans. Who runs the House of Representatives, and these committees looking into Martha? The Republicans," said the Stewart friend. "Guess who is a major force in raising money and contributing to Democrats?"

The close Stewart friend predicted Americans will rally behind Stewart the same way many did with President Clinton during his impeachment.
"Once all the facts come out about this abuse of power, about these subpoenas, which ask for every detail on Martha's very private life, people will come to her side."
A spokesman for the House Energy and Commerce Committee strongly denied congressional investigators are being motivated out of any political concern and noted questions about a subject's personal contacts with other individuals are standard.

How did Clinton survive? He was able to spin the Impeachment as "all about sex" and portray anyone investigating him as some sort of obsessed, puritanical nut case.
Since we know that the Rats did this to deflect from the more serious charges (missile technology sales, Chinese money, drug dealer donations, etc.) and it worked, and we also know that the Rats NEVER abandon a strategy that has worked in the past, we can see that they are going down this same road.
Tauzin must NOT question about boyfriends or anything at all resembling it. He must use phone records and testimony from brokers and NEVER bring up personal associations. He must be respectful and not patronizing, and feign admiration for her business acumen.
We as the ground troops mustn't fall into the trap, either. No matter how tempting her personal relationships are, leave it to the Rats to try to drag it up, and when they do say it is irrelevant. Let THEM be the sewer party.
And as I said, no one cares about her sex life. I WOULD like to know about her dumping a bunch of K-Mart stock before they declared bankruptcy (a little tid-bit that got released on a Friday afternoon).

You know that, and I know that. But, the casual viewer of CNN won't analyze her statement and take it at face value.

The witch knows no end to her arrogance. As much as I already didn't have any sympathy for her, I now wish her SERIOUS jail time.

I truthfully thought I had heard it all. No more. I guess some genius came up with a bright idea to make this stuff up so to 1) try and get Martha off the hook, and 2) try and do political damage to the Republicans. This is one more nail in the proof that liberals are either stupid, or they seriously think everyone else is.
I for one do not pretend to know the truth of Martha's business and stock dealings. But if greed was her motivation in this case, what a terrible lesson! $250M lost on a $200K deal trying to save less than $50K in losses. If true, THIS is the lesson that should be publicized as a learning experience for all.
