Dear Freepers:
I just returned from the First Annual Free Republic Network Convention in Las Vegas.
The Free Republic Network Cruise last October was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. The Free Republic Network Conference I just attended was the most informative and inspiring two days I've ever had in my whole life.
The Free Republic Network is stretching its muscle, not by talk, but by action. The Free Republic forum is liberty's college. The Free Republic Network is liberty's workplace.
If you attended, please use this thread to post your observations, comments and highlights of the conference. I will give mine below. But before I do, I'd like to take this time to thank Bob Johnson and the FRN board for putting on this conference. It's hard for me to find the words to adequately describe how great this experience was--and how much I learned.

Hey, how did you do that? That's great! I want to change my screen name. I didn't know that people would think I'm a wimp when I signed on here.

Since my Medicare card arrived in the mail maybe I should change to oversexed seasoned citizen!

OGM, it was so weird. I had to use my hubby's email since he's a life long lurker. Now, I think I screwed everything up. I mailed JimRob to let him know it's me and not some disrupter. The hoops they go through to create multiple accounts, they have to be obsessed! So, should I keep it? What do you all think?

Thanks for the ping, Bob.
I loved the cruise -- had a great time. If the next cruise is properly "formatted" (for lack of a better word), we can get a lot of FRee Republic training done, not to mention the parteeee!
I have given some thought to the ideal duration for a "working" cruise, and from my perspective, something like a Monday afternoon through Friday morning cruise would work. I could be talked into a Monday through Sunday trip, but there is a danger, IMHO, that a week would be too long.
The variable in this equation, from my perspective, is the number of days spent in port/at sea, particularly if you want to have some meaningful training sessions.

Keep both! Then you can post under either one, depending on whether you're feeling naughty or nice!

Arrrrr, Blackbeard says hi. He also says you are in charge of the rum for the next voyage. I'm just the wench delivering his message.

Your lurking hubby might decide for you when he sees all the attention you're getting!

Thanks again for everything, you really out did yourself;-) Agreed! How about we all do this again sometime? How does next week sound? <---my old joke that I recycled from after the FR inaugural ball. :-)

My hubby is great. He'd get a kick out of this. It's an internet site. Only a web site. There's more to life than this. Contrary to the obsessed ones, we all have a life. Y'all know me. Y'all know, FR can be a blast, and y'all know we can make a difference. The internal politics mean nothing. It's the local stuff that needs our undivided attention. We need to work at our local to create change. That's my objective and when I'm running for president, y'all can back me up on my screen name. And remember, it's all the lawyer's fault.

They have a nice 7 day trip that basically circles Cuba. You hit Hispanola, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Mexico. That leaves 2-3 ocean days for "work"!

Arrrrrrr, at least I'm not frozen! So are you suggesting I should really change my name to Frozen Wench?
I just don't like the connotations. ;-)
