Dear Freepers:
I just returned from the First Annual Free Republic Network Convention in Las Vegas.
The Free Republic Network Cruise last October was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. The Free Republic Network Conference I just attended was the most informative and inspiring two days I've ever had in my whole life.
The Free Republic Network is stretching its muscle, not by talk, but by action. The Free Republic forum is liberty's college. The Free Republic Network is liberty's workplace.
If you attended, please use this thread to post your observations, comments and highlights of the conference. I will give mine below. But before I do, I'd like to take this time to thank Bob Johnson and the FRN board for putting on this conference. It's hard for me to find the words to adequately describe how great this experience was--and how much I learned.
I still have a certain photo of you and Miss Slippy here in my pocket somewhere.
Thanks. It's good to hear this. I had this fantasy that this thread would be chock full of stuff from the conference, so much so that freepers who couldn't go could read what was here and it would practically be like going there.
Which, in some ways, it is, there's just a little wading through mud that has to be done, Maybe we can get strela who has promised to post his incredibly detailed notes to go through the thread and pick out some of the other good stuff and add it to his post.
I'm still waiting for info on the Sunday morning meeting. Those rascals who went seem to be purposefully withholding the information. Women and cats are very curious, don't they know they're driving me crazy?
Strela, the only thing I've got in my notes on this (this was the Chuck Muth morning lecture, right?) is this (and I've posted some of this previously):
T = technolgy
A = audience
M = message
A = action (change public officials)
Don't use acronyms except FBI, CIA, etc. Keep it simple and straightforward.
Bias in the media isn't what they write, it's what they write about.
The best candidate does not win. The best campaign wins.
Do not send emails to Congress (they block them).
The best way to influence Congress these days is phone calls.
On the local and state level, emails can and should be used as they still read them on that level.
And that's all I've got in my notes on that segment. I seemed to have warmed up to Chuck Muth over time and at that point I reached a level where my attention could not be divided and I hung on his every word. I can't tell you what those every words were now, though. Which is the reason for taking notes. Sign, when will I ever learn?
I dunno. That feller down in front looks like one ornery character. ;^)
THEY TOOK THE BARRRR ... THE WHOLE F*#)($@ BARRRR!!!
Ooh! Then folks would get you confused with me and my origional 'Guzzi'.
Wish I'd gotten the chance to talk with you more.
Enjoyed the lunch, but enjoyed the company most of all. :-) If it werent for you, I wouldnt have played video poker....and win! :-)

BWHAHAHA! I've always said Anna's got a way with words.
For reporters, make sure you give them access to you. They have deadlines.
Be candid with reporters, don't add a spin.
Get to know reporters.
Lastly, "There is nothing wrong with a benevolent dictator in a dictatorship."
And that's all I've got on Chuck Muth.
I didn't think that you would be. But really, is Slippy any more huggable than you?
Ask her.
