Dear Freepers:
I just returned from the First Annual Free Republic Network Convention in Las Vegas.
The Free Republic Network Cruise last October was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. The Free Republic Network Conference I just attended was the most informative and inspiring two days I've ever had in my whole life.
The Free Republic Network is stretching its muscle, not by talk, but by action. The Free Republic forum is liberty's college. The Free Republic Network is liberty's workplace.
If you attended, please use this thread to post your observations, comments and highlights of the conference. I will give mine below. But before I do, I'd like to take this time to thank Bob Johnson and the FRN board for putting on this conference. It's hard for me to find the words to adequately describe how great this experience was--and how much I learned.
It doesn't hurt.
Sir, I decry your statement because you have just equated me with the dirty left. I take great offense to your statement because I am not surrendering. I will not stand down on my principle that abortion is wrong. Your insinuation that by realizing, or learning, on how to use certain tactics to further the Pro-Life movement is somehow evil and surrending, is absurd.
Your inability to see just what we are talking about is really funny, you know? This whole thing started with my description of how the Leadership Institute showed us how the left uses tactics againsts us, and how we can learn from them to turn the tide. Of those tactics, stay on message and repitition were underlined. Funny how in your post you decry us for using the lefts tactics while praising Askel5 for using those SAME tactics.
I find it sad that "leaders" of a conservative forum would hammer you for doing the right thing, in staying on message and refusing to give in to avoid controversy.
and...
I keep hearing "stay on subject" and "repetition, repetition, repetition. I'd venture to say there wasn't this much repetition in Jonestown.
Nice of you to contradict yourself in the same post...
I guess we shouldn't complain too loudly about it, the alternative (no hair) would be far worse. LOL!
I have an engineer's (gold) uniform, I should trade it in for a commanders (red). Then I can play Riker and... sssshhhhhh.... u know the rest... LOL
Point taken and I'm thinking my hair looks fantastic now!
Didn't you start a thread just for them yesterday, dear sir?
Off topic right here: The jury in the Westerfield murder trial will be giving their verdict in eight minutes.
Now I'm going to have to dig my "ST II"-era wrap-around uniform out of storage again. The bloused pants really looked silly and the boots were too tight, but I had the red jacket hand-made in Korea and it REALLY looked good.
There's been a few avoirdupois flow under the bridge since I last wore it though. Anyone know a REALLY good tailor? ;)
You might want to talk to Shatner about that...
