Dear Freepers:
I just returned from the First Annual Free Republic Network Convention in Las Vegas.
The Free Republic Network Cruise last October was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. The Free Republic Network Conference I just attended was the most informative and inspiring two days I've ever had in my whole life.
The Free Republic Network is stretching its muscle, not by talk, but by action. The Free Republic forum is liberty's college. The Free Republic Network is liberty's workplace.
If you attended, please use this thread to post your observations, comments and highlights of the conference. I will give mine below. But before I do, I'd like to take this time to thank Bob Johnson and the FRN board for putting on this conference. It's hard for me to find the words to adequately describe how great this experience was--and how much I learned.

Thank you Strela! Ditto from me too!!

"It was great seeing you at the conference"
It was great seeing you too - after all our conversations about the interview.

So sorry I couldn't make this trip - I knew I was gonna miss somethin' great! Glad I finally caught up with this thread so I could hear the reactions of the attendees. So pleased to see that folks enjoyed it and are encouraging everyone not to miss the next one!
Slip, we'll have to get the Arizona troops together again soon and share more of what you learned at FRiva.

What an honor to be able to meet you and the rest of the Freepers in LV. Such inspirational stories of courage and fortitude! It is with gratitude that I bear a torch for this great Republic of ours. I am keeping all of the wonderful people I met this weekend in my prayers and my heart.

What incredible fun and so educational, too. So many dear people and lovely memories! The events of this weekend are still a whirl in my mind!
The training from the Leadership Institute was first rate. It's a wonder my head didn't explode! I especially enjoyed: "The Real Nature of Politics and Politicians" and "Developing a Message that Works". And Chuck Muth - what a character!
Everything at the awards dinner was so nice. The food was good and the room looked great. I think my favorite part was the video presentation - Bravo for Anymouse and lowbridge!
My next favorite part was the Eagle awards, if I do say so myself. Bravo, too, for CCRM and FRiends!
I hope we have ten times as many FReepers next year. Congratulations, diotima, BobJ, et al, for putting on a high quality event!

I hope to see you again at the next event. There was not enough time to sit and talk with you. I would love to hear your stories. It was wonderful to meet so many FReeper women! Until next time...

Can we have a conference in Florida? Maybe Orlando?? Sounds good to me. But you better ask BobJ. I don't have any say so on matters like these.
You might want to go to the Leadership Institute's web site and sign up for their newsletter or write them and ask when they will have seminars in your area. I cannot emphasize how powerful their training sessions were at the conference. Apparently they give seminars and training sessions all over the country. I left my email address with the request that I be notified when they're in my area.
Hope to see you in Florida some time soon!

The honor and privelege as all mine. Thank you for being there and for your own efforts on behalf of our Republic all of our liberties.
The more of us who become involved and engaged ... in whatefver capacity as long as it is a sincere and committed effort based on the foundational principles of our Republic (Constitution, Bill of Rights, liberty based on a strong moral foundation, etc.) ... the more ground we will gain and the safer we will vouchsafe our liberties.

Your conference reports are so filled with excitement and "after-glow"; it's been a pleasure to read them!
To: Libertina
That is kind of you to say. As for me, my writing skills are inadequate to convey how much fun I really had at this event. This is the second time in my life I have literally dropped everything and went on a trip like this pretty much on faith (I attended a CNN conference in Atlanta when I was working for them on their chat side), but it won't be the last time.

One thing that struck me is that even though we all hail from different locales the basic issues we face are all the same. We must keep our Constitution strong and free from erosion. We also need to reach out to others and get them to join us. I have definite plans for getting involved in my community. Living a good life by doing the right thing and reaching out is a good antidote for liberalism. I am so inspired after this weekend. The time went much too fast! I look forward to meeting you again. Until that time, take care, and God bless you.

Yes, we did - at the registration table when the Friday night event started - but you were so busy with the registration table that we never really got a chance to talk much. I'm sorry about that. Next time!!
To: Rollee
I agree Rollee - everyone of us has an interesting story to tell about how we got to FR. I look forward to see you again at another event!!
To: Peacerose
Sorry, Peacerose, I forgot to mention your award for CCRM. Very well deserved too! I hope to see you again at another event.
To: strela; Bob J; diotima
Well you picked a good event to drop everything for, Strela. BUMP to Diotima and Bob J who just get better and better at this. :)
To: Jeff Head
It was fantastic to finally meet you. God bless.
