"United Nations experts warned Wednesday"

Probably should read: "experts seeking more grant money warned Wednesday."

Kind of like insurance companies trying to scare potential customers into buying coverage.

"That being said, I think we should wean ourselves from Arab oil and find ourselves other energy sources. Obvious reason: the Saudis use their oil money for terrorism (hate school, Hamas, 9-11)."

Agreed. The Left in this country is dead set against our finding oil resources elsewhere though. And they also despise corporations, which represent the best hope for developing energy resources other than oil.

The United Nations, with the enthusiastic agreement of the American Left, is desperate for us to sink down to the same primitive level of living that they have.

The fact that a free market economy produces a great standard of living, while a socialistic economy, the ecomonic system of most of the UN countries, produces a backward standard of living, eats these people alive. So instead of looking at what system actually makes life better for the majority of people, and emulating it, they attempt to bring us down to their substandard level of living.

I don't think we'll capitulate to these fifth world dictators until the vast government school educated moron population in this country puts Hillary Clinton in the White House in 2008. Then the UN will have it's way and Americans will be getting around on bikes and rickshaws and lining up for grain like the Afghans. And, since developing nations like those that make up the UN are the actual polluters, who will these little tyrants blame when there is nobody left who has the freedom and resources to devise cheap and efficient ways to solve the pollution problem?

Unless we give up our gas-guzzling SUVs and our appetite for disposable products.....(my emphasis)

Yep, that should give the was-n-wear condom manufacturers a boost in sales ;-)

...the U.S. also lead the world in spewing municipal waste, the report adds.

The U.S., more accurately, has lead the world in financing the U.N., which in turn spews political/pseudo-intellectual waste.

Unless we give up our gas-guzzling SUVs and our appetite for disposable products, Canadians will have to get used to the kind of severe weather patterns seen in recent years, United Nations experts warned Wednesday.

Unless the whole nation gets up at dawn, dress their head in feathers, beat bongos and dance and chant "rain rain rain" and chop the head off a calf to appease the rain gods, there will be no rain in Canada.

The UN is full of hooey. They are the new pagans of the modern age.

Unless we give up our gas-guzzling SUVs and our appetite for disposable products, Canadians will have to get used to the kind of severe weather patterns seen in recent years, United Nations experts warned Wednesday. The kind of sweltering, choking heat waves hitting Central Canada and the droughts on the Prairies this year are going to become a lot more common, they said in a report entitled North America's Environment. "There will be more extreme events, in terms of droughts and floods and weather phenomena," predicted Ashbindu Singh, one of the authors of the report which examines the state of the environment over 30 years....

Is this a threat?

"ARTICLES FROM MASS MEDIA OVER THE YEARS HAVE TALKED BOLDLYABOUT WEATHERWEAPONS! FURTHER CONFIRMATION THEY EXIST!....... We have reported that a United Nations treaty is on record prohibiting any nation from using Weather Weapons against any other nation. Now, we will review articles that have appeared in the last 20 years boldly declaring that Weather Weapons do exist and do work. [Part 2 of 3]......" http://www.cuttingedge.org/news/n1197.cfm

Interesting articles, I remember reading years ago during the cold war the US and Soviet governments were indeed working on weather control technology to be used as a weapon against each other, although I never heard much of what became of it...

North Americans must accept more responsibility for environmental damage and could start by curbing their energy demands -- which are linked to climate change, says the report.

this is not proven. in fact, recent studies suggest that there may be no correlation at all between energy use and the so called 'global warming' phenomenon.

So far this year, there have been at least 22 poor-air-quality days in southern Ontario, hit hard by pollution from across the border.

i see that the united nations is now trying to pit canadians against the united states. un says canada is suffering and it is the fault of the us.

bring on the hockey sticks and let's settle this once and for all i say.
