She's a successful politicial columnist, a rock-ribbed conservative Republican, the daughter of Philippino immigrants, and passionately opposed to the invasion of Illegal Aliens into our nation.
Michelle Malkin would be a blockbuster selection for President Bush as the new INS Chief, in the wake of the retirement announcement of current Chief James Ziglar.
Let the Democrats try and demagogue her.

Sabertooth: No one ever has experience for this job... just a commmitment to the status quo.Victroria Delsoul: I agree that's what we need. Not hate and absolute dislike.
You've lost me... you want a commitment to the status quo?

I love her, but she'd never make it through the Senate. 5 minutes into her hearing, she'd tell Leahy to kiss her ass and that would be that. hehe

Oops, I meant commitment to do the job. Sorry for the confusion.

Maybe he likes Asian wimmin??
If I was to suggest that you oppose the idea because maybe you don't like Asian women, it would be no less ugly than the comment above.

I'll bet she wouldn't. If Bush nominated her and she accepted, I doubt Malkin would lose her cool.
She'd pass the Senate. Any Democrat opposing her would be cornered as pro-Illegal in a very high-profile way.
Only good for the GOP.

From what you have posted, she looks like a good candidate to me. I'd be happy to write a letter.

I didn't know Zigler had decided to "retire". I wonder if he knew he was about to make that decision?

Hey Saber! Will the nice lady do any of the following:
1. Close down the borders to illegals?
2. Round up all the undocumented illegals already here and deport them immediately?
3. Will she and her troops round up all of the illegals with false documents, including the infamous drivers licenses now handed out by benighted States ?
Will she locate and imprison all fabricators of false documents?
Will she bend to the wishes of La Raza, Chicano Nation and the People's Socialist State of California and allow the ilegals to get the amnesty that Bush has hinted they should get?
Will she do all she can to influence Congress to dump the Spanish language requirements for all Federal documents?
Enquiring minds want to know...

Get a grip, Saber.Your idea is absurb and a fantasy.Nothing offensive at all in my suggestion.Being a columnist does not make you qualified to run a broad bureaucracy, get it?? No matter how much you agree with her writings.

She is too intelligent and independent to ever get a top post in the ultimate political cesspool of DC. I am sure Jorge is in mourning for the approval of his bro Vicente and will do the right PC thing! How about Horowitz to replace the incompetent, lost, and moronic Ziegler. Does Ziegler remind anyone else of the late consumate political butt boy Louie the arch moron Freh?

If you want to be serious, consider Guiliani, if he'll take the pay cut.

No way.
I posted an archive of her articles for the past three and a half years on the first page of this thread. Check out Malkin's writings on Illegals.
I don't think she'd necessarily do everything you ask in the way that you suggest (I wouldn't either), but if she got the post, Michelle Malkin would start turning things around on Illegal Aliens for the first time since Eisenhower.

I don't know either, but this will be a telling nomination for Bush. It will reveal much if his next nominee is as soft on Illegals as Ziglar.
What do you think of Malkin?

To: Sabertooth
I truly have no good suggestions on this one. But there are some that I don't think Bush would ever nominate (Buchanan for example.) This actually may work in Michelle's favor since there really isn't a 'leading' immigration voice, other than Tancredo- and he may be too much of a loose cannon to make it threw confirmation.
To: Sabertooth
What do you think of Malkin? She is a complete unknown to me. I am much more interested in why Zigler is leaving. I have a feeling he does not want to head an agency half the size of the one he started out leading. I want to see who leads the Immigration enforcement department under the Homeland Security Agency. That will be more telling than whoever replaces Zigler as the head of the INS.
