What we need is a change in the laws to allow the purging of all government departments.

The good retired people like you could lead the way in pointing out who needs to be fired, purged, early retired and in some case criminal charges filed against them.

The solution is a three part one:

1. We must increase our leadership in the house and then defeat enough of Da$$hole's clymers in the Senate who are running for re election to control the Senate.
2. As soon as Congress is sworn in, the house needs to pass a bill that requires every federal worker over GS7 to submit their resignations to each new president. If he wants to fire them, he asks them to leave. Each resignation letter is valid for his 4 years. (Since GW will be at the half way point, all above gs7 submit their letters of resignation immediately and they are good until Jan 2005.)
3. The senate approves the bill in a quick one day show down vote. GW signs the bill that evening in the White House on national TV. Then he starts to immediately clean house with resignations from State, to Defense, to FBI, to CIA, to Justice, EPA, and of course US Forestry service, blm and other areas that the Green Jihadist controll as a hidden government. Of course don't forget the IRS and Treasury department in this cleansing.

Am with you on purging the Government. This lifetime appointment even if incompetent needs to go. Another thing that needs to go is taking someone on a political appointment and making them permanent civil service as clinton did! I could rant all night about incompetent civil service employees that need to be fired but it takes several years to do it! All the time they draw full pay and are pains in the neck!

You are deranged. Get rid of all the civilians and in six months the US Navy will be tied to the piers. Now if you want to apply this to the GS-15 and above level I agree completely. At any rate the problem is with the voters who continue to send clowns like Dashhole and Leahy back to DC. year after year. That is where the tone is set. The IRS for example could be leashed in a minute but the pols want the money.

Point I forgot to mention. You must be a Clinton supporter as that is the tactic he used with the US attorneys. Also with Billy Dale and the travel office staff. If you give a president this power he can then pack his people in everywhere. Do you want to give Hillary this authority? There are alot of conservatives in govt. They would be the first to go. Reading what you wrote I realize that there are alot of not too swift posters on FR. Odds are that Bush will not be re elected and very well may be the last Pubbie president for a long time. What you propose will result in a totally leftist govt.
