OOOHh - is that YOU? In that baby picture? Soo sweet. And so is the pledge baby!

Here's a picture I found of a Havana Sunset - pretty, no?

Thanks, Thin Man. It's easy to write about outstanding an Freeper who has contributed so much since joining Free Republic - and who knows truly the value of Freedom!

One day, all the people of Cuba will be FREE! I hope Luis and I and you and all of us live to see it!

Billie is to be thanked for taking a chance on me to write this, for putting up with my sputterings,
and for prettying it all up so it makes sense in a beautiful way! LOL

Billie wasn't taking a 'chance'. She 'knows' what a fine writer you are. We all do. : )

But then, again, it's easy when you have a true "star" such as Luis as the subject!

You're much too modest, Free. None of these 'Finest' presentations are easy.

You lovely, and talented ladies just make it seem so. : )

Luis, I will never forget meeting you online when we were learning about, loving, and longing to keep this little boy happy and free. To think that the horrendous Reno is now running for the GOVERNORship of Florida after her crime there! She is a SLAP IN THE FACE of all Cuban Americans - and should be same for all Americans! I hope the people of Florida, especially Cuban Americans living there but all of Florida, rejects this woman so resoundingly that the gets in her little red truck and drives far far away!

...What did Logan's family think of it?

They love it. Dad wants a framed print to display at work. :-)

..Uh, I thought you liked daisies for their beauty - not as part of a diet. :)

Luis ~~~ you are truly someone whom I am proud to call mi amigo.

I think the first essay of yours that I read was My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys and I've been a fan ever since. You make us laugh ... cry ... swell with pride ... remember ... think ............. you find words to express that which the rest of us only vaguely sense.

Your writings touch the very soul ........ a true gift from God. We thank you for sharing that gift with us! Your intense patriotism for your new home and your love for your native land are an inspiration to us all.

God bless you, mi amigo!

I'll NEVER FORGET Elian!

Oh - meant to say - that is one of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen, Valerie. But all of yours are that way! And, Lody had one earlier that I meant to say how pretty it was....just gorgeous. Words are not adequate to communicate the loveliness of these pictures.

I have changed our luncheon menu and will serve Cuban food instead of Elvis food. After all, Luis is our Finest Freeper of the Day, not Elvis. Although Elvis coulda have been (arguably). He believed in the right to own guns and served his country well and met with Nixon in the WH. The druggie thing was not good, however.

Anyway, here is some Cuban food for lunch...Well, actually the restaurant that prepares this considers it half-Cuban, half Columbian food.

Left to right: Appetizer platter- roast pork, chorizo, corn pancake, tostones, beef....Octopus Salad...tamarind Cuban milk shake.
