I am neither convinced that we had a clear mandate in Kosovo, or in today's Iraq. I know that Saddam Hussein is a bad guy that I wish were gone. However, the case has not been made to justify an attack on his nation.
No he won't allow inspections. He hasn't for a number of years. The time to attack was when he first refused to allow them. Now out of the blue we want to attack. Why? What has changed. Tell me what it is, and I may agree. Don't tell me and I haven't any reason to accept that Hussein must go at this moment.
Good gravy, I want to support our nation's efforts. Give me a reason to. Is that too much to ask?

What has changed. Tell me what it is, and I may agree. What I believe is that American spies within Saddam's inner circle, probably one of his family, have discovered that he plans to smuggle a nuclear weapon into the US and set it off. This has been communicated through the CIA to the President. That is what has changed, and obviously we can't reveal that we know this, because that would could our spy to get wasted.

Yes that is too much to ask,you are supposed to follow blindly.Hell yes you should ask that and many other questions about this decaying government and its corrupt politicians. Americans in general are as blind as any foreigners we look down upon.We no longer know the meaning of morals, truth and honesty because all the way from cradle to grave we are being brainwashed and probably never more to see this truth and honesty that was there in the early stages of the beginning of our country. The constitution no longer lives it has evolved and arrived
at the doorsteps to hell.

In my humble opinion what has changed is that now with the weapon programs in Iraq anybody that has a beef with somebody can get a WMD or will be able to if they have the green. This is what I think Bush sees as the future. The genie will soon be out of the bottle and we are looking to keep in the cork. Weapons only once available to the super-powers will soon be the terrorists bread and butter and if this is not stopped it will make any and all past terrorist explosions look like a walk in the park.

The timing on this war-with-Iraq issue is suspect, and I
don't trust our leadership sufficiently at this point.
I'm with Armey on this one - it just feels a bit un-American
to me as well.

Give me a reason to. Saddam Hussein is certainly evil and he has dangerous toys to play with. His removal falls under that ugly category of "somebody has to do it."
Knowing what we know now and given the chance, would we have pre-emptively taken out history's mass executioners -- Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot. et al ?? Probably...but our emotions may have gotten in the way. Who are we to play God?
Knowing what we know now would we still embrace socialism, collectivism, and the never-ending "government solutions" to problems even though it always leads to tyranny ?? Sure, we still believe the propaganda that there's a better world with the Democrats.
What's my point?
If your political views are "dependent" in nature, you're likely to search for propaganda that all is well. However, an analytical, sober mind will conclude Saddam must go.

IOW, please pander to me. I(Doughty) don't care that saddam is a dangerous person, I (Doughty) must be pandered to 24 hours a day to feel important.

I am neither convinced that we had a clear mandate in Kosovo,What we did in Kosovo under Bill Wag-the-Dog Clinton was a flat-out war crime. Where were all the outraged media reports about civilian casualties when we bombed Belgrade for 78 days, destroying its infrastructure and killing its people?
