until the West and the other nonislamics with a bone to pick with the fruitcakes wipe out the jihadis, the moderates will be too scared to come out.

I agree.

I've been wondering though. When the Communists lost their stranglehold on Russia, capitalism existed as an alternative.

Moderate Muslims aren't going to convert to another religion if the fruitcakes are wiped out, they're going to remain Muslims.

And I can't get rid of this nagging feeling that as long as there are practicing Muslims, the seed will always be there for growing more fanatics.

Muslims seem to have a sheep-like tendency to cave in to intimidation from their own. Ripe pickings for the psycopaths among them.

This is a TREMENDOUS post. I hope many more Muslims read it and realize there is a real life to live outside of the tyrannies of religious oligarchies.

This guy, if he's not the typical two-faced back-stabbing treacherous muslim, sees the faults in the islamic world, but not the cause for those faults.

Notice that he sets up "true Islam" again the "literalist fundamentalism" of the terrorists. In other words, he believes you can't be a "true muslim" if you take the koran seriously.

So he's not much of a spokesman for islam. The world could use more of these MINO's, though.

I commented on that line when GWB said it in the meeting with Abdullah of Jordan; he was referring the Hamas.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised that no major media outlet thought it worth mentioning or discussing. Just FR.
