JoeEveryman and the Anti-FReeper Attack on Free Republic
Various Anti-FReeper sites | August 10, 2002 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/10/2002 1:29:46 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

The anti-FReepers are on the prowl. As most of you know, there is a group of ex-FReepers who have been dogging us for the last several years. The anti-FReeper community was started several years ago by a group of disgruntled individuals who were banned from FR and then wanted to get back at us by damaging our reputation. This started out as petty name calling and rumor mongering, but they now appear determined to cause us as much harm as possible. Even to the point of attempting to get FR and FRN shut down and the owners and managers of the organizations bankrupted or jailed.

Some of the early members of the group include ex-FReepers Mojo, Aligyrl, Landshark, Z2, Headhunter, LindaM, and others who have come and gone over the years. The most recent additions to active anti-FReeping appear to be ex-FReepers Clarity, Clinton's a Liar and JoeEveryman.

There appears to be a certain love/hate relationship involved here. Some of these people hate FR and its PTB (that's "Powers That Be" in their lingo) with such passion that they cannot stay away. Some of the original members of the AF community have given up and drifted off, some have come back to FR, and some are as determined as ever to kill FR and have me and whomever else they can thrown into prison for whatever crimes they imagine us guilty. Their motivation is pure revenge. Their driving force is hatred.

Their current attack is centered around an attempt to break up the Free Republic Network and, through that angle, to cause as much damage to FR as possible. Unfortunately for all of us, there is a genuine problem with the ex-leader of the South Carolina Chapter. Apparently, there was some money collected for events that was never paid over to the vendors and the chapter leader is accused of taking off with the money. I am not going into all of the gory details here, but I understand that there is an official police investigation ongoing and the SC Chapter and the FRN are cooperating fully with the authorities. The anti-FReepers, led by JoeEveryman, are trying to gain maximum leverage from any fallout from this case and are attempting to use it to bring down FRN.

JoeEveryman ran an FR thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/728856/posts) last week on this subject. I eventually deleted it because it was turning into an anti-FReeper haven and I do not want that on FR. The anti-FReepers have plenty of their own websites to conduct their hate campaign. Those who are interested may find JoeEveryman (posting as "Panjandrum") on the LibertyPost.org forum, now appearing to be the latest home of the anti-FReeper community. I have undeleted the JoeEveryman thread for those who are interested in reading it, but have left it locked. I do not want any more anti-FReeping activity on FR.

JoeEveryman is now banned from Free Republic. It is clear on the thead that he ran here on FR and on this (http://www.libertypost.org/cgi-bin/readarticle.cgi?114+1485+0+1) thread on LibertyPost.org that his intent is to bring FR down and to cause us as many legal problems as he can. I cannot see allowing him to do this on my own website.

It appears to me that they are either preparing some sort of lawsuit and or are trying to entangle me, Bob J, FR and FRN into the SC case. None of us had anything to do with whatever wrongdoing may have taken place in SC. The South Carolina Chapter is an independent entity, as are all of the FR chapters, and neither FR nor FRN have any ownership or control over their activities. It appears that the anti-FReepers are trying to break that down. We'll see. FRN is cooperating fully with the authorities and I will too if they ask.

In the meantime, I do not want them scheming on FR so they are banned and will remain banned. I will also ban any other FR members who get actively engaged in this attempt to bring down FR.

A request to all. Please do not drag any of the anti-FReeper stuff to FR. I do not want it here.

Free Republic has withstood many attacks over the years, from both the left and the right and I am confident that we will survive this attack from this Free Republic Haters Association as well.

Thanks for your continued support.

Jim

What is your problem?

Come on TLB, if you were suddenly stuck running an organization because the previous leader turned out to be a multiple felon, and a fugitive who stole part of your treasury, and you were having to deal with the police and DA's and such, would you really want to chitchat about folks who are gloating about your problems?

Commonsense aka Julie Redick aka Julie Reddick aka Julie Gates aka Julie Nicholson: WAS on the FR Network Board of Directors until on or about Jan. 20 2002 when she was removed by the board for financial improprieties.

As we posted on the "Joe Everyman" thread, Commonsense was under consideration as a member of the FR Network Board of Directors, but was never installed. During this period she had access to the FR Network BOD discussion board.

Dixie has very politely told you she does not care to respond to your question in post # 677.

That should be sufficient for a gentleman to understand and accept.

I have known Dixie for years and the only changes I have seen in her have been improvements.

Just sticking my oar in to repeat something said above Nihil illicit carborundum (don't let the ba-t-rds grind you down). I know you aren't made of stone, and this sort of thing must be a real drag, but it will receed, if not pass. Remember, there are thousands and thousands of us who are grateful for what you do!

This is my favorate website. It is also my homepage.

During my career in the Air Force, we were held to a certain standard which was to avoid even the APPEARANCE of impropriety (right or wrong.) This thing with Commonsense may be perceived to not measure up to that standard.

Please protect this site and distance yourself to the extent possible from this fiasco. FR is too valuable to lose.

God bless.

The names are too close for comfort, even for me. Close enough so that someone could mistakenly think it was me.

Trust me, there is nothing sharp about afConistan's Pointy Head...dull and clueless.

My standing is as a FReeper who takes the following to heart next to the founders documents and wants to return to it without the interference and disruption from afar as has been the case for the last 7 months.

You know I pay my share and some. When we stand in front of the White House or the Capitol or on the corner of Whitehaven St. with WWW.FreeRepublic.com on our signs I don't want a hint of scandal attached to the name FreeRepublic.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is our mission? Free Republic is dedicated to reversing the trend of unconstitutional government expansion and is advocating a complete restoration of our constitutional republic. Listed below are some of the issues we feel strongly about.

Basically, we believe that the Founders designed our system of government in the form of a constitutionally limited republic, with maximum freedom intended for the people and minimum government control or interference into our personal lives and business affairs.

The united states of America was intended to be a federation of sovereign states, each with its own constitution and state government. Governments at all levels -- federal, state and local -- were to be controlled by the people. Our Constitution explicitly restricts the power of our federal government; and our Bill of Rights guarantees that NO government may infringe upon our God given unalienable rights. This is to ensure that the real power remains close to home, with the states, the local governments and always in the hands of the people.

We the People have granted our federal government limited powers to oversee certain things, such as national defense, interstate commerce, the postal service, the coining of money, and the operation of a court system. Most other powers now in the hands of the federal government were illegally usurped from the states and from the people.

Somehow, over the years, our guiding principles of law, as set forth in the Constitution, have been eroded to the point that the federal government now has total control -- leaving the states impotent and the people as captive servants to the federal government. This must be reversed if we are to survive as a free Republic and a free people.

We at Free Republic are determined to return the Constitution to its rightful place as the Supreme Law of the land as the Founders intended.

It is not necessary for everyone to hold the same views to be members of Free Republic, however, many of us do share many of the following as common beliefs and goals:

The preservation and complete restoration of our Constitution and Bill of Rights with special emphasis on the first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth, ninth and tenth amendments and, of course, our right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness -- free of government intervention.

We call for the repeal of the 17th amendment, which will reverse the independence of the Senate and reestablish the Senate as a representative of the State governments, as intended by the Founding Fathers. This arrangement was intended to be a critical check against illegal federal expansion over the States, and the people residing in the various States, and will act to return the powers not granted to the federal government, as enumerated in the Constitution, to the states.

We call for the repeal of the 16th amendment and to abolish the income tax and the IRS. Revenues to the federal government should come from excise taxes and tariffs.

We call for the repeal of the Emergency and War Powers Acts, an end to all national emergencies and a ban on the unilateral creation of law by Presidential edict. We are also working for the repeal all laws created by unconstitutional and extraconstitutional devices, such as Executive Order or Presidential Directive. Repeal of the war and emergency powers acts and the various states of national emergencies will allow the abolishing of all unconstitutional federal law, agencies and departments. This will return us to a Federalist system of government and return many responsibilities to the States and personal rights to the citizens.

A return to a strictly Constitutional form of federal government will automatically repeal and abolish all unconstitutional federal involvement in states issues such as: crime, health, education, welfare and the environment. The Tenth Amendment will again be in effect, which will bar all federal attempts at legislating social issues. This will also require that social programs such as Social Security, welfare and Medicare be repealed. So too, will most federal subsidies.

We further call for the rescinding of all treaties and/or International Agreements which are not in perfect agreement with the federal government’s Constitutionally mandated task of protecting the rights of the people.

We believe that the United States should disassociate itself from the U.N. and that the U.N. should be forced to leave the United States. Furthermore, we demand that the federal government refrain from meddling in the business and squabbles of foreign nations, unless there is an imminent threat to the people of the United States.

We also call for the strengthening of our military and defenses; the effective control over illegal immigration and smuggling; the paying down the national debt; and strict control over federal agencies like the CIA and the FBI.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: Free Republic does NOT condone bigotry or violence and does NOT advocate an overthrow of the government.

Please, all this antifreeking talk is forbidden here at free republic.

Cripes; now I learn that FAB is gone and now we have to be nice to freeks?

Having just been banned from TOccS for dissing the management and asking just pretty innocent questions, I want to know how far I can let loose here?

Here is what I would not do. I wouldn't come on a thread like this and tell people not to talk about it. I would not push those away that try to help and third chit chat like there are no cares in the world and act like nothing is wrong.

These anti-freaks are out to destroy this site not TLBSHOW.

As Bob J Said here.......

To: usconservative

By the same token, TLB is also okay. He is one of our spot (as opposed to serial) show hosts on RadioFR and he has always handled that responsibility with seriousness and hard work. He does get a dander up rather quickly when he thinks FR is being attacked, and sometimes shoots too quickly or widely, but his heart is in the right place.

I wouldn't come on a thread like this and tell people not to talk about it.

I said nothing of the sort. Syncro said nothing of the sort. Dixie Sass said nothing of the sort. She said she didn't want to talk about it. And you did not take her no for an answer.

Where I come from, if a lady indicates she does not to carry on a conversation with me, I do not oppose her wishes. Apparently this is also true of Syncro.

So compromise! There is no law to my knowledge (not yet, anyway) prohibiting you from bowing decorously en route ROTFLYAO.... ;)
