Are you concerned about our nation's porous borders? It's a fair question, and I think that it is one that nearly everyone can answer. Please provide your opinion and why you feel one way or the other?
One more thing, you were talking about European immigration into a dominant European culture. Third World Latin American and Asian immigration into a first world European culture is not the same.
BTW, German was almost America's national language. Something, whic h I am almost certain that Freedomsfriend doesn't know. :-)
This garbage is unadulterated racial bogotry ! I think that he doesn't know that many Cubans are white ; as are many from South America. This " immigration " rant, as are most others here, is based on race ; for the most part. Just look at what is said between the lines and NOT so subltlely.
Want to know what sticks in MY craw ? Those stupid buttons that read : " KISS ME, I'M IRISH ", that some wear on Saint Patrick's Day. How many bloody generations have those people been here ? They still think that they're " IRISH " ?
All hyponated Americans are a disgrace !
We haven't been for quite some time. The bastards do whatever it takes to keep their sorry butts in power. It's as simple as that.
Practically-speaking, we cannot erect an impermeable wall and still, at the same time, do effective and prosperous business with the outside world. Nor do we want to open the flood gates and for all--past and future--trespassers to have sudden immunity once inside our border.
One solution is to have a good internal tracking system, one that seeks and (prosecutes) deports illegals after exacting at least a nominal penalty. To argue that this approach would "require" a national ID is a shallow reaction because such a system would not need a national ID---identifying, finding and arresting illegals can be done with current state-of-the art technology and one more thing:
An effective, ethical, competent and loyal FBI.
That's easy!
Boca Ratón!
First, they voted Pat Buchanan into the presidency, then, they joined Jesse Jackson in a march down the middle of town to support Al Gore during the recounts.
Go figure!
P.S. No one asked Jesse back to their house for a cup of coffee or anything BTW...
Mexico is a corrupt third world nation that exists in The West.
That is a strange statement. How can you, with a straight face, say that race has a role in psychological traits? The white race has more socialists in it than conservatives by ANY standard you care to use. By your definition the "whites" are psychologically dependent on government.
I see.
Of course I knew that.

No, it is not bigotry. It is common sense, and you're too "progressive" to admit it. Who doesn't know that many South Americans are white. Your point?

What is with your comparison of St. Patrick's day, a one day festival/holiday of which people use to party (let's be honest, that's all it means to most people), to that of individuals, mostly illegals, who do not wish to assimilate, but rather fly their motherland's flag? You would have a point if newly arrived Irish were flying the Irish flag, were not assimilating, etc. Unfortunately, you are trying to compare two different things. I have no problem with cinqu de mayo, other than the fact that it is used for the same purposes (a drunk fest) as St. Patrick's Day.
