Are you Concerned about Illegal Immigration?

Are you concerned about our nation's porous borders? It's a fair question, and I think that it is one that nearly everyone can answer. Please provide your opinion and why you feel one way or the other?

I, myself, am very concerned about illegal immigration, as it is a piece of the puzzle in the destruction of America.

In all honesty, I think we should shut the borders down, LOCK them down, build a fricking wall if that is what it takes. NOT one illegal, legal immigration? Bring it on, but if you are an illegal, not only are you out of here, you are never gonna get across again. Yes, Illegal immigration is destroying us, and by the time mexico annexs the southwest, the entire population will be mexican anyway. Time to a put a stop to it, and I don't mean just plugging the dam, I mean to take out the ones that are already here. Deportation, you are outta here!!

A AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so tell me, why our schools are going into deficits that are incomprehensible?

Government waste, corruption, fraud, and mismanagement on a scale so large that most people do not want to believe it. It is organized crime by power elites and is so wide spread and rampant that it makes the mafia look like a bunch of choir boys.

"Tell that to the Cubans in Florida. Tell that to the 50% of the total Hispanic population in Texas that voted for Bush. The LEGAL Hispanic population alone is going to be the largest minority in the United States in a very short time. Do we concede them to the democrats? If we do then we deserve what we get."

It is not people here legally that concerns me. It is those who are not. As much as I hate to say it, Bush just barely won the election. I thank God he beat Green Al.

But if you think illegals don't vote you are living in a dream world. We need to police the borders. After all, that is the subject of this thread in the first place.

PS If you think illegal immigrants(most come from Mexico) are going to buck the trend you are mistaken. Rember Alice In Wonderland. Good night to you sir.

>> Tell that to the Cubans in Florida.
Gore must hate them.
<<

Gore asked for infinite recounts in Miami-Dade county because he won it by such an OVERWHEMING margin (and bear in mind that Miami is 70% hispanic, according to census data)

To pretend that all the Cubans in Florida voted Republican is simply a fantasy.

A switch of two large swing states in the 1960 election would have given a decisive victory to Nixon. Those two states were Texas and Illinois.

Take the dead vote out of Illinois (and more specifically, Cook County, where Kennedy got 110% of the population in several Chicago wards to vote for him) and the state clearly went to Nixon.

Take the illegal alien vote out of Texas (and most specifically, the border counties and urban areas) and the state clearly went to Nixon. Kennedy put Johnson on the ticket because he was paniced that the "old solid south" had started to crack under Eisenhower, and he was right. Nixon won the Anglo vote in Texas overwhemingly...check all the election data from that year.

We did exceptionally well in Cuba, we didn't let one single native inhabitant survive their initiation into civilization......But the Spaniards didn't do as thorough a job south of the border. There may have simply been too many natives, too many mountains, and too many jungles to cover.

******************

Elaborating on your point, you should read Guns, Germs and Steel, if you haven't already. The book won the Putilzer prize. In the right climates, Euros really did wipe out the natives. When they tried to colonize the wrong climates, it simply didn't work out.

In regards to Cuba, I do not believe that there was any conscious effort by our early Cuban ancestors to wipe out every last Indian. However, Germs and Geography doomed the Indians in Cuba.

The de facto biological warfare between continents during the Middle Ages and the Age of Exploration was a natural consequence of maritime trade and exploration. European diseases devastated New World indigenous populations. The plague from Asia and syphillis from the Americas ravaged Europe. With some exceptions, such as giving Indians smallpox tainted blankets as was done in some North American Indian conflicts, there was nothing sinister about it. Germs were simply doing their job and the humans had very little say in the matter.

In a large land mass such as Europe, Central America or South America, the large population and geographical distances can absorb such a biological attack. On an island, even a relatively large one such as Cuba, the smaller Indian population had no place to run from the diseases and were wiped out.

As Luis pointed out, the Indians were not wiped out in Spanish territories of what is now Mexico. In fact, the Indian gene pool was and is the major component of what Chicanos call "La Raza" (The Race).

As a result, the Mexican views himself as the descendent of the original Indian inhabitants and views both Spaniards and the Americans as the hated Euro-invaders who stole their land.

This hatred of America is what I see as the major problem in current immigration be it from Central America or from the Middle East.

In the past century and a half, millions of immigrants may have come to the U.S. more for economical reasons rather than political reasons but, for the most part, those immigrants did not hate America and it's institutions. Nowadays, however, the U.S.A. has opened it's doors wide open to millions of individuals that seek American economic benefits but hate America and it's values.

There is no problem with "diversity" as long as diversity means being a Creole-speaking Cajun, Black, Southern, Boston Irish, Pennsylvania Dutch, Hawaiian, Cubano or Heinz 57 as long as the common bond is a true love for America, the Constitution and the core values that made America great.

However, if "diversity" means that every America-hating ethnic group in the Planet can come in by the millions and set up housekeeping in the U.S., then, eventually, the philosophical character of America will change.

Once America loses the core values that made it great, America will die just as the Roman Republic died.

I DO know all of these facts. There is more to it, though., Don't forget ALL of the money, that " Old man " Kennedy spread around, to blacks and black churches. There were more than just the two states, that you mentioned, where voter fraud was rampant. Everyone knew it, back then. Nixon was too " polie ", to ask for a recount.

Think how different the world would be, if Nixon had become president then , instead of JFK !

Great book; I read it last year. :-)

I agree , almost 100 % , with what you've said. The only thing, that I have a tiny quibble with, is that , in past immigration swarms, there have been various American hating eliments therein, as well. Subversives, of various stripes , from Rosa Goldman to Marcus Garvey and far too many others to list.

I am concerned about illegal immigration.

Illegals from Mexico and elsewhere in Central America are coming here in such vast numbers that it makes assimilation improbable and unneccessary.

A Nation of two languages is two Nations.

Illegal immigrants are diluting our labor pool and holding down wages for all of us. If they were all *POOF* gone tomorrow, our yards would not go uncut, our hotels wouldn't close their doors and offices would still get cleaned.

This jobs would all be filled, and at higher wages. As the number of unemployed shinks the value of all labor will rise.

We have enjoyed years of practically no inflation in large part due to the cheap labor of illegals. As our wages rise, so will prices, put a little inflation is a small price to pay for the future of our Nation.

Let's narrow the focus a bit. If you mean the typical Mexican that crosses the border, either legal or illegal then I would counter that you are highly exaggerating the political sophistication of that person. I agree that there are those that want to destroy "our way of life" but that is not the profile of those that are cleaning hotel rooms. They can and are easily manipulated and so far the ones doing the manipulation are the liberals. If you are new to a country and the only friendly voice you hear is that of the poverty pimps and the conservative voice you hear is one of degradation and animosity who will win the day?

You are mixing up quite a lot of geographic areas and groups in one post.

"Miami-Dade" also includes Miami Beach which is almost totally New York-Jewish-Liberal and Gay-South Beach-Liberal.

The meaningless catch-all name "Hispanic" includes everyone from Central Americans to Puerto Ricans who vote Democrat.

The Cuban American vote for Bush was 78%.

If it were not for a 78% Cuban American vote for Bush in Florida, Al Gore would be President of the United States today.

I totally agree. That is why I prefaced my comment with "for the most part".

The greatest effect, in my opinion, has been the romance that Jews of Eastern European origin have had with Communism and Socialism. I believe that is was a natural reaction to the centuries of persecution and pogroms under Czarist Russia. If the Communists were the enemy of the Czar, then Communism and all it stood for must be Good.

Unfortunately, such a mind-set produced many a Red Diaper Baby, strongly advanced the cause of the Left in this country and made folk heroes to this day out of the likes of the Rosenbergs.

The Sephradim were never under such illusions.

Published Thursday, November 9, 2000, in the Miami Herald:

Seniors, Cuban exiles key forces

BY MARK SILVA

...The Clinton administration's handling of the young shipwreck survivor Elián González also worked in Bush's favor: Cuban-American voters in Miami-Dade County overwhelmingly backed Bush. The Republican has amassed support among Cuban Americans that rivals former President Ronald Reagan's vote in the 1980s.

Clinton had made inroads, capturing as much as 40 percent of the Cuban vote in his reelection. But Gore apparently was limited to less than 20 percent of this influential vote largely because of lingering resentment over Clinton's handling of Elián...

http://www.ciponline.org/cuba/newsarchives/november2000/mh110700silva.htm

From the April 28, 2001, issue of National Journal:

Elian Gonzalez Defeated Al Gore

By William Schneider

They called it el voto castigo, or "the punishment vote." Whom did Cuban-American voters punish? Democratic nominee Al Gore and his fellow Democrats. "The Democrats first lost tremendous support among Cuban-Americans in the 1960s because of the Bay of Pigs," Bendixen noted. "But since the middle 1980s, the Democratic Party had been gaining with Cuban-American voters, from the teens (in terms of percentage of the Cuban-American vote) to the low 20s to the mid-30s. The Elian Gonzalez saga reversed that pattern in a dramatic way."

Bendixen estimates that President Clinton got 35 percent of the Cuban-American vote in Florida in 1996. In 2000, Gore drew less than 20 percent. Look at the vote in Hialeah, Fla., a predominantly Cuban-American suburb of Miami. In 1996, Republican presidential nominee Bob Dole outpolled Clinton in Hialeah by about 10,000 votes. In 2000, George W. Bush got nearly 25,000 more votes than Gore.

Statewide, Bendixen estimates that Bush got 50,000 more Cuban-American votes than Dole had received. That's a hundred times greater than Bush's certified margin of victory in Florida.

They turned out for Bush because of Elian, not because they generally vote Republican. And there in lies the problem, you just stated it perfectly when you said "the Cuban community".

I am totally against illegal immigration, and for now I'm against the amount of legal immigration we have. Legal immigration should be reduced to a trickle, until we stop using liberal/socialist phrases like, the "cuban community", the "hispanic community", the "asian community", the "black community", the "anglo community", the "arab community".

Liberals yap, yap, yap, about the commonality of man, then drive racial wedges as deeply as they can for their own political benefit. I watched C-Span2 the other day, La Raza was having a meeting discussing what politicans are expected to do for the "hispanic community". The "black community" is full swing into it's "Reparations" scam, all the while the crime statistics of both these "communities" are a disgrace. Ten acres and a mule has already been done. It's all a load, we are Balkanized, I don't like it, no argument put forth about ancient American history, involving mostly law abiding European immigrants that didn't get along with each other at a time when the economy was growing, or tripe about St. Patties Day, and German almost being our native language means beans about the problem at hand.

The problem at hand being that the more immigration we have, the more socialist we become, the more America is destroyed, the more the liberal/communist/socialist win. As long as the Democratic party can make gains using racial division, then immigration should be reduced to a bare trickle, and NOW, not next year. Europeans usually showed up on these shores knowing a trade, knowing how to read, and with the ability to add. The idea that we can have a massive influx of third world people some of whom have never seen a light switch or indoor plumbing, people who are expecting to GET theirs, which really means get YOURS, is ludicrous. Our hosipitals and schools are already failing, the system, the taxes are reaching the point they can't carry the load.

The rest of the world is in a twist over the amount of resources America requires to exist yet they don't stop to consider that we take in the largest number of immigrants of any other nation, and many nations combined. Every new immigrant manages to buy a clunker, needs air conditioning, electricity, water, etc. A "No Vacancy" sign should be put up until this mess is under control.
