2. If you use sources, please cite them.
3. No flaming!
4. See rule 1.

Oh I agree. Things with our allies seem a bit dicey right now. Putin would probably whine at first, but Russian is a key player in the oil market now, and has a vested interest in what goes on in Iraq. And if our allies and the UN b!tch and moan, I say screw them all. Who needs enemies with friends like them...

Did you see the story on FNC tonight? The Iraqi opposition, who are in Europe right now, has asked to meet with President Bush. VP Cheney has agreed to meet with them in the next few days.....makes you wonder doesn't it.....

Don't forget our "friends" the Saudis. What is the story with them? Those sneaky snakes belong in the "axis of evil" club.

I was working in a furniture store, and we brought the TV out of the break room and put it up front at the receptionist's desk. No one was entering the store anyway...they were all home watching TV like we were.
We also got a really good deal on our Ford Explorer in January, right after the bombing started. I still drive her...over 300,000 miles, and a bit of rust, but original engine, transmission, and electrical system. My husband calls it "The War Wagon." Ha!

We have that big air base in Quatar that made the newsThis set my radar off, plus the news the Turks have taken over an airbase in northern Iraq. The signs are all there, then there is the curious timing of the Secret Service's announcement that they are expanding the protective zone around the White House.
Did you read my Freepmail?

I thought Iraq was a "for-sure" thing this Fall but after reading Dick Armey's comments, I haven't a clue.
I do think the media is in a tizzy about the whole thing and it is a bit nauseating to watch. For some reason, having to watch a bunch of pundits and journalists and reporters talk about war plans just turns my stomach. I cannot stand all the bloviating about it when they have so little information.

I do not think Putin would whine at all. I actually think he would be quite enthusiastic...especially if he is given the money that Iraq owes him. Remember, they have a real problem with Islamic terrorists in Chechnya.
I have another reason for thinking Putin is quiet. I also am really interested in Powell being in SE Asia.

Rummy said that he planned a "disinformation campaign". And we all know that the Liberals would like to leak stories of any plans that the Admin or DoD has in order to discredit them. This stuff might be interesting, but very few of us know enough to pick the fact from fiction. Does this mean they purposely plant "disinformation" and if it's leaked, they know who's leaking because of who it was given to?

My radar beeped when I heard about that protective zone around the White House, too. Somethin's cooking.

hard to have any sort of surprise element when the liberal media won't shaddup! That's what bugs me. On the other hand, I heard a report (speculation really) that we might be considering attacking Irag on 9/11. I would think that it would be a good idea to float an idea like that and then hit them on 9/12, just when they're sighing a breath of relief.
Of course, I take all of the various reports with the grain of salt because each report seems to contradict the one before it.
Maybe that's the strategy -- flood the airwaves with so many conflicting reports that none of the reports can be taken seriously. That way if the real plan is leaked, who will be able to tell it apart from all of the other reports.

I'd guess that the stories are a mix of leaks done by leftists to weaken our attack, and misinformation done by patriots to confuse Saddam (and to mask the leaks).

Well, darn! I finally learned to post pictures last night and now there are none. Story of my life!!

Things with our allies seem a bit dicey right nowTony Blair seems a little wobbly, and British public opinion doesn't appear to support Bush. Hopefully if push comes to shove, the Brits will be there with us, but it sounds as if Blair needs a bit more time to convince the public this is necessary. W might not be willing to wait for Blair to hold his wet finger to the wind.

Yes. I will answer it in a bit.

I think there is an Iraq story there and the media are all afaid they'll get scooped on the eventual story, so they're reporting what little they have. Hence the speculative chatter.
Personally, I'd rather see everyone post their favorite photo from "Days" past and explain why they like it...
This is not my FAVORITE picture, but one I liked for its show of quiet strength and the love shared by this close-knit family.

Armey would be a good spreader of bad news or false news since he has nothing to lose.

Hi rintense, I'd say buzzards looking for a story and wanting to rush Bush's hand before it's time. It's unfortunate Fox has gotten into the fray.
