I'm always amazed when I learn about the things that Freepers like yourself have done behind the scenes. Thanks for all the work that you've done for our Free Republic!

Ditto'ing my fellow FReeper's comments on you and on your yeoman work in keeping our state blissfully income-tax free ! Onwards and upwards to November and to a clean sweep ! :-)
To: GailA
Gail, you've done a bangup job. I always read your TennTax posts whenever I see them. Tennessee will retain a wide-open economy because of your refusal to budge on the income tax issue. Thanks.

Thanks for stopping by. In "researching" this profile, I came across your name many times on the Forum. All of you FReepers in Tennessee deserve a round of applause for your efforts (and result) in opposing the State Tax. I have seen it described as a modern day Boston Tea Party-referring to the horn honkings and huge protest last August.

Excellent job Daisy! Thanks so much for the link to Gail's website - powerful stuff there.

That classic -
How many Freepers does it take to change a light bulb? - is funny no matter how many times you've read it!
Thanks so much for linking it.

David "Davy" Crockett
(1786-1836)
Davy Crockett was perhaps best known in Tennessee as a noted hunter and for his unique style of backwoods oratory.
In Texas, however, he will always be remembered as a heroic participant in the Battle of the Alamo.

Actually, dansangel, in my neck of the woods, this has been a most pleasant summer, temperatures lower and less humid than usual.
For instance, this week the nights are to be from 61 to 69 - remarkable for August!
Many years ago, I lived one year in Rapid City, South Dakota, followed by 3 1/2 years in Fairbanks, Alaska, where it was below freezing half of the year.
With winter temperatures there hanging for WEEKS with HIGHS of 40 below zero (and around 50 below most of those days), I one day had a conversation with the Lord.
"Lord, you know I am not a whiner, but would you please send me next to a place with even SEMI-normal temperatures?
I promise if You do, I'll never complain about the weather again!"
His response??
Sent me to Myrtle Beach AFB, South Carolina, right across the highway from a State Park by the ocean!!
Yes - I've kept my promise!
What exasperates me is persons who when you have had a prolonged drought and twelve successive drops of rain fall, exclaim, "Oh - ah wish it would quit rainin'"!!
Empty minds filling any conversational void with empty words..:)))

Billie has said it before and I will say it again, it means so very much to us when former FR's Finest visit us again after their day in the sun. (Has Chelsey recovered from her recent experience as a "foster sister"?lol)
