Many years ago, I lived one year in Rapid City, South Dakota, followed by 3 1/2 years in Fairbanks, Alaska, where it was below freezing half of the year.
With winter temperatures there hanging for WEEKS with HIGHS of 40 below zero (and around 50 below most of those days), I one day had a conversation with the Lord.
"Lord, you know I am not a whiner, but would you please send me next to a place with even SEMI-normal temperatures?
I promise if You do, I'll never complain about the weather again!"
His response??
Sent me to Myrtle Beach AFB, South Carolina, right across the highway from a State Park by the ocean!!
Yes - I've kept my promise!
What exasperates me is persons who when you have had a prolonged drought and twelve successive drops of rain fall, exclaim, "Oh - ah wish it would quit rainin'"!!
Empty minds filling any conversational void with empty words..:)))

My hubby, .45MAN, was stationed in Alaska for three years in the early sixties. He would move back in a heartbeat! The cold didn't bother him in the least. He was most struck by the beauty and serenity of the wilderness.
I agree with you, LadyX. There is no pleasing some folks. I always welcome what little rain the Lord bestows on us here in GA. I happily go out without an umbrella (years of living in FL cured me of the dread of getting wet!), and patiently listen while so many others complain. I think if there WAS a perfect climate, someone would still be unhappy with some minor aspect of it.
I promise not to complain about the heat....after all, it's always HOTTER somewhere else!
