Vigilante neighbors in court for branding molester

Three Pontiac men took the law -- and a blistering hot metal spatula -- into their hands when they learned a neighbor had been regularly sodomizing his 7- and 10-year-old nephews.

Two of the men held down the uncle while the third pressed the smoking spatula on his genitals, buttocks, stomach and legs. They paused only long enough to reheat the spatula on the kitchen stove for repeated branding before tossing the uncle out onto the sidewalk, breaking his arm.

I disagree. I don't think this is the way to deal with such creeps at all.

For one thing, he lived to tell his side of the story. Very bad plan unless he's far to scared to tell the cops, but willing to tell every pedophile he sees.

No, this wasn't well thought out at all. Other pedophiles will think they can count on our court system to protect them from vigilante justice. The proper method would be for him to never be seen nor heard from again, but all sorts of extremely frightening stories of his fate start circulating in the pedophile chat rooms.

I am gratified that he won't be harming the nephew anymore.

It might even be theraputic for the nephew. He now knows that there are adults who love him and will protect him, even if it means they have to go to jail.

That the government or any agent of it believes they have the moral imperative to dictate behavior to any citizen in this regard, in light of the fact that it is they who continually re release these perpetual offenders, is illustrative of the depths of hubris, arrogance and disconnection with those who they purport to represent. Hey statists, we will not offer our throats to be slit in the name of "justice" for criminals. Do you understand that you do not have, never have had, and never will have the power to regulate behavior.

The chaos in the society you claim to protect is evidence of this.

Lock child molestors up. No parole. Ever. Until DNA evidence shows that they were wrongly convicted and didn't do it. Then, let them go.

Somehow, I doubt that killing them or torturing them really deters other molestors. I don't think any thought of consequences goes through their minds in the moments before committing these heinous crimes. Otherwise, the 8-40 vs. a few moments of pleasure seems like it ought to deter any being rational enough to be deterred by torture or death.

And, unless I'm mistaken, the article does not say they castrated him, so he'll probably get out and do it some more.

If you're going to be a vigilante, the only sensible thing to do is shoot the child-molestor in the brain. Kill them quickly. That is surefire prevention of recidivism and you don't become a torturer in the bargain.

I can't condone what was done, but I don't think people would feel so driven to vigilante justice if there were more justice in the system. People see the revolving-door courtrooms and are getting fed up. These people need to be kept locked up if they mess with kids. Period.

8 to 40 years. What the h*** is the 8 years about? That means you can only mess with a kid after 8 years to me. These people are incurable. They can never be counted on to control their deviant impulses.

If anyone did this to mine, and I caught them in the act or had proof of the event, I would shoot the SOB on the spot...I wouldn't be able to help myself.. He would be dead in short order.

I have posted this before in the context of what I would tell a boy who wants to date my daughter but I think it bears repeating here.

If you hurt my child, you won't need to worry about what your parents will say or what your friends will say. Don't worry about the police or the courts either. If you hurt my child, you need to be afraid of what I will do. I don't mean you need to worry, I mean you need to be testicles-crawling-up-your-guts afraid. You can't get far enough away to avoid the reach of my arm. No matter how far or how fast you run, I will be behind you. Do not sleep, do not eat, do not rest. I will find you and when I do I will make you sorry that your mother ever met your father. Your family won't protect you. The law won't protect you. And if G-d Himself should ask me what I thought I was doing, I will answer, "I was defending my child."

About 6 months ago a woman in my area shot a man who molested her child in the groin. The grand jury decided not to indict her.

In some places in the US, these three would also have been charged with a "sexual orientation" hate crime. The term "sexual orientation" is much broader than just homosexual orientation. It can be and has been used to protect people whose "orientation" is toward children

I agree with you 100%. However, the perp would not be shot first. I would torture this person in ways that I can't post here. He would suffer tremendously. Then I might shoot him. But then, why waste a bullet?

If we had a few more of these friendly chats by the neighbors, I bet we'd have a lot less crime. apillar, I grew up in the South and I know exactly what kind of visits you're talking about. Nothing too harsh, but the message was gotten across crystal clear. Too bad it doesn't happen anymore

I strongly disapprove of this action. The fact that they only scarred areas covered by clothing is inescusable. They should have branded the words 'CHILD MOLESTER' on his forehead.
