Many might not recognize the significance of that person - Michael W. Smith.
He is a young Christian singer who had been invited to perform at the Inaugural by GWB, and today accompanied the families to attend church with them and sang two songs!!
What a wonderful thing it is to know our President is so focused on his foundation in the Lord!
If you appreciate Christian Praise & Worship, Michael's CD Worship is one I highly recommend.
You need to listen to all of it to find the wonderful variety of songs, old and new, and orchestrations and musical instruments.
Michael plays the piano on the recording, and, of course, does the singing.
The congregation was asked by the minister to pray for the President and the nation, as we should daily.
It is indeed a blessed Sunday in America!
God truly is with you and guides you - and we appreciate all you do.
May He continue to watch over our beloved nation and be with and guide our President and leaders.

Unto You, O God, do we give thanks today; for Your wondrous works declare that You are near. We pray, Father, that You would spare us from the wrath that we deserve in this nation, for all the ways we continue to deny You each day. Have mercy on us for turning our backs on You and Your laws. We have allowed the family unit to be destroyed in our nation in the name of "alternatives.". We have allowed the media and entertainment industry to define our culture and to flood it with language and behavior that makes the devil smile. We have enabled women to slaughter their unborn babies in the name of "choice.". We have left our children to raise themselves in the name of "career;" and have sought to be youthful, cool, accepting, and "tolerant" instead of being the adults we need to be. We have allowed our churches to become lukewarm in an effort to whitewash the truth about the hell that awaits those who do not believe. We have stood idly by as Your mighty Word has been twisted and distorted by ministers who do not truly know or revere You. We have remained silent as our government incrementally chips away at our religious heritage and our religious freedoms, while itself increasing in corruption and interference in the lives of its citizens. We have turned blind eyes to the continued mockery of Your laws by those in leadership positions, both in our government and our churches. We have allowed worldliness to consume our lives, and have given no thought to laying up treasures in heaven. Have mercy on us, O God.
Merciful Father, You are the God of grace. You do not seek to get back at us; You merely seek to get us back. You are at the core of all cleansing, healing, and renewal Father. You are at the center of every solution. We come, asking You to save our nation from being consumed by satan’s desires. We ask You to rescue us from the hand of the prince of darkness who seeks to keep us completely from Your truths. Come to our aid, Father, and destroy the ugliness, the wickedness, the lies, the inhumanity, and all destructive acts that lead us away from You.
Instill in our President a continuous desire to be a godly man, and call him each morning to do the work You have prepared for him that day. Send forth to him godly men who will advise him well, and who will help hold him accountable to You. Please place in his mind and his heart, the wisdom that he needs for every decision, and help him to please You above all others. Father, make him a man after Your own heart. Mold him into Your likeness and help him to walk with You each day. Let his prayer time be filled with a closeness that can only come from sitting at Your feet in worship and from making himself totally dependent on the strength and wisdom he draws from You. Be his hiding place and his shield. Teach him to hope in Your Word. Help him to love You, his Lord and God, with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind, and with all his strength, and enable him to love his neighbor as himself.
Hear our prayers, Father, for our hope is in You. We come to You, believing in Your faithfulness to respond. We love You, and place these requests at the foot of the cross of our beloved Saviour, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Father, if you don't help us to prove to the people that the media are liars for the enemy, we will never be able to take back our country. They have control over the people's minds, just as the Pharisees controlled the mind of the mob that crucified Your son.
If it is Your will, Father, please provide some undeniable "smoking gun" to expose the liberals and their lackeys in the media, so that the many good Americans out there who have been confused and brainwashed by a media they don't know enough to distrust, will wake up and turn once again to You.
Amen.
I pray that God be with our President in all he does. Give him strength, dear, Lord!

It is so reassuring to have President Bush in these uncertain times, knowing that he listens to God.
I read today that the First Lady says he reads the Bible every morning, and we already know he participates regularly in a White House class of believers who meet.
God has been invited into the White House, and we rejoice!

Had an opportunity to listen to Dr. Dobson this morning - he made the point that as much as he loves President Bush for being a wonderful man, only a sweeping revival will turn our country back to traditional values.
It was a great broadcast. He got thunderous applause. Don't know who the audience was, but they were pumped!
