Not sure how this wound up under "Government" or if you want it there. Still not sure how to get posts into specific areas that aren't listed under "highlights" when you chose a topic. Thanks.

I shudder to think of what they saw on those destroyed floors before they perished

It was love, unselfishness and concern that pushed men carrying a hundred pounds up that many flights of stairs that quickly. Just men, trying to do their best, and showing the rest of us what "best" means.

It seems absurd to suggest that a voice recording of firefighters is relevant to the questions of whether ZM is guilty.

A time to cry still when reading about these brave men, about all the innocents who were massacred that black day by Arab Muslim terrorist swine.

I was wondering how they will tie it in as well. Could a terrorist have survived up there and his voice heard on the tape (I don't think so)? That thought is beyond a stretch, but I am not sure the significance to the trial either, since they have enough other info to hang him and others.
Aside from that, it just confirms and extends the heroics of these brave, selfless Americans.

I shudder to think of what they saw on those destroyed floors before they perished I'll bet they saw work to be done. Imagine the kind of man who can run up 78 floors in full gear, half again as fast as anyone imagined, and then think, "Now I can start to work."

It's going to be hard to weed out the ones associated with terrorism. Bush was right in his speech the week after the attack: this is not your conventional "war", and will not be won overnight, and may not have the same obvious results of having "won" a war at all. Unseen battles, unseen victories. I trust him. I wish the media would crawl back in their holes and shut their pieholes. /rant

(sarcasm) We mustn't generalize. It could have been Laplanders and their rheindeer!

I'm not clear, exactly, on who was doing the recording, and where the recorder was. Anyone know?

I'm not clear, exactly, on who was doing the recording, and where the recorder was. Anyone know?I would assume that 911 dispatchers have recorders going on all conversations between rescue workers and anyone talking with them.

Unseen battles, unseen victories. I trust him.I agree with you wholeheartedly. I will never forget the TV clip of GW in the Oval Office the night of 9/11...choking up when he stammers out how the hijackers cut the stewardess's throat...he said incredulously that they had 'cut a woman's throat'...I believe that this act drove home the concept of evil on a very personal level for GW--his eyes, his voice, his whole manner revealed his abhorance at the casual murder of a woman...he became one of us for me at that very moment--he will not betray us--I believe that he loves this country and her people as much as I do and that he is a man first and a politician second.

But in the article it states the tape was found in the rubble. That's why I'm confused.
Thanks, though :)
