Operation Infinite Freep; Colorado Style, August 3,2002
Colorado Chapter of Free Republic ^ | 08/03/22 | Tom Buchanan

Posted on 08/03/2002 11:01:56 PM PDT by fivetoes

It was a great day on the North East corner of Mulberry and College in Ft. Collins. Freepers in attendance this week were:
RMRattlesnake and family
Trteamer
Softengine and her two sons
fivetoes
There were several members of the VFW Post 1781, Joe and Jim and several others.
Paul and Roy from the Fife and Drum Corps, along with their newest drummer, son of RMRattlesnake.
One candidate for Larimer County Treasurer

One more time the opposition showed up a ten minutes late. We thought we were going to win by forfeit. I am convinced this battle of ideology is going to be won by perserverance. Paul and Roy from the Fife and Drum Corps showed up looking as casual as I have ever seen them, but their music was as sweet as ever. They recruited a little drummer boy, sounds like a Christmas carol.

Trteamer showed up with a new batch of signs and took up a post diagonally across the street from us. He was motivated by research done in this thread Operation Infinite Freep: Know your Enemy. He printed out several web pages of the antis and brought them to the VFW post. It made the veterans quite upset, to say the least. It was their first time seeing proof that these were not a local band of yahoos from CSU, but rather a well organized group of radicals. One of their web pages even brags about the fact that some of them spit on returning Vietnam Vets.

There was one idiot across the street that kept dancing and blowing kisses to everyone. He was getting on Softengime's nerves. I told her that was their objective to get on our nerves so that we would get frustrated and go away. I used the power of amplified voice to ask the younger crowd across the street if their parents knew they were hanging out with communists on the weekends.

We had our ceremonial saying of the Pledge, again asking them to join us and just hum along if they did not know the words. Near the end of the hour Yvonne, a long time activist, asked me if I had any pocket Constitutions with me and I reached into my little bag of tricks and produced a dozen. She then walked over to the antis and presented each of them with a copy.

One thing I have noticed is that there is much more enthusiasm on our part than theirs. They seem almost ashamed to be there. Yes, this war will be won by resentless pursuit of our ideals of freedom and liberty.

After ward we headed over to the airconditioned sanctuary of the VFW hall for some enlightening conversation and to get to now each other a little better.

Once again the Fife and Drum Corps led us to battle with the sounds of Yankee Doodle, The Marine Corps Hymn and countless other melodies.

Here's our shot of our side of the street.

No Infinite Freep is complete without a shot of our favorite sign.

The ever faithful Freedom Gals from the VFW

Once again we were joined by a candidate for Larimer County Treasurer, Steve Miller. This time he brought along his campaign manager Tyler

This honorable veteran has no trouble doing his math.

Softengine continually pointed to her watch indicating time was up, but 'they' didn't get it.

Trteamer took up his post on the SouthWest corner. We had them surrounded! He gets my vote for pre-freep work by creating several signs that he rotated throught the hour. He needs some support over there.

First; Pipes and Drums - Wayyyyy cool.

Second; We are going to steal some of your sign Ideas. We really need to get under the skin of our Peace-niks - they are so smug in their beliefs that America is the terrorist state and that the rest of the world has a right to hate us.

Third; Keep up the good work FReepers.

Outstanding FReep! You should have seen it from my corner!
The picture of the patriot drummer boy is priceless.

FREEP REPORT FROM THE TYRANNY FREE ZONE, SOUTHWEST CORNER:

Yes folks, there were no tyrant or dictator supporters on the Southwest corner yesterday. I decided that to keep in harmony with the VFW Support Our Troop Rally on the Northeast corner, I would start a counter protest of the peace-niks on the opposite corner. My goal is to embarrass and bring negative attention to the subversive agitators.

Since I was by myself I was a little hesitant at first. Then I remembered that these idiots on the peace-nik corner are part of a group bent on destroying my country and bringing my standard of living and freedom to an end.
That is what keeps me going.

A number if interesting things happened to me in that hour.

I hade a bicycle riding idiot supporter come by me saying something about the fact that he could probably talk to me for 8 hours on the subject but... (then he rode off muttering to himself, kind of sounded like the end of a Ted Kenedy speech). I just shrugged my shoulders and got back to the task at hand.

I had a drunk or drugged vagrant right in my face for a while. Kind of scared me a little, but I held my ground and tried to smile a lot and continue my protest as he harrassed me. He wanted to know if I wanted to go to work on his plantation picking strawberries? He then proceded across to the useful idiots corner to harrass them.

I had a really ugly college girl with a hog ring in her lower lip get really mad about a couple of my signs. I have a big orange sign that says: BOULDER 50 MILES,NO VACANCY (with an arrow), BAGHDAD 8,300 MILES (with an arrow). I also have a sign that says: PALESTINIANS HAVE STREET DANCE WHEN AMERICANS KILLED. She wanted to know if I was advocating sending all American Palenstinians to Iraq? I said no, she got pissed, luckily she was a passenger in a car or I think she would have taken a swing at me. I guess the college has done an outstanding job of getting the kids to support the Palestinian cause. I must be upsetting their recriutment efforts.
I don't understand why anyone would want to put a hog ring in ther lower lip, go figure.

When the carload fo subversives pulled in from Boulder about 10 minutes late, the character I call the "dancing idiot" took his place on the corner directly facing me. After about 10 minutes of reading my signs he went off with another lady and made some quick signs to protest ME.
One said: UN-AMERICAN GUY S.W. CORNER, the other said: ISRAEL ASSASSINATES CHILDREN, HAMMAS LEADER.
Gee, now I am known as the "UN-AMERICAN GUY". The dancing idiot is doing us one big favor by being there. He blows kisses to cars honking their horns, he does some sort of Irish dance to the bagpipe music, and in general looks like a fool.

Big Jim came over for a while to do double sign duty with me, Thanks Jim!! The Tyrant Free Zone welcomes all FReepers who wish to counter protest the subversives, feel free to swing on over and have a go at them, I have plenty of signs.
All the Best!!

Yes these guys and gals are amazing. They started a couple of years back during the begining times of the Tyranny Response Team here in Colorado. It started with a couple of guys with 5 gal buckets and quickly evolved to where they are today. They win awards in parades and are in high demand for many functions throughout Northern Colorado.

They are constantly practicing and IMHO they are the hardest working folks in this movement to restore our constitution. I maintain their website for them at Northern Colorado Fife & Drum Corps.

Good post Doug,
It would be nice if everyone would post what they observed. As always at these kind of things, time passes quickly and we only get our own personal glimpse of an event.

I had a drunk or drugged vagrant right in my face for a while. He wanted to know if I wanted to go to work on his plantation picking strawberries?
Trteamer gets propositioned to become a migrant farm worker. 8-)

BTW, I love good organic strawberries!!

We are going to steal some of your sign Ideas

The Al Qaeda Fan Club sign is by far the most popular. Everyone wants to hold it. 8-)

Thank you so very much for standing tall for our country and our military.

Where do you get your pocket Consitutions? Maybe your source, ours, and others can get together for a great deal on large quantity. Feel free to Freepmail me if you'd like to discuss it.

For now, VetsCoR has about 500 currently in stock, so if you need more, just help us with the shipping and we'll send them to you.

This is a piece of cake compared to Marine Corps boot camp 30+ years ago.;-)

Where do you get your pocket Consitutions?

Our last batch we got here National Constitution Center. The cost is shipping only on orders over 1,000 if you are organizing a Constitution Day event. It is too late for this year as they want orders by the first of June. They may be flexible if the cause is right. We have also been trying to find a printer capable of doing it so that we can get our own printed.

I still have a little over 600 left sitting next to me. I carry a bunch around with me and hand them out where ever I can.

BTW, I got the latest VetsCor email chock full of ideas for activism. I have toyed with the idea of a giant 'Thank Our Vets rally on or about 9-11. I imagine Freepers taking up intersections all over America at the same time with signs thanking our service men and women for their effort in weeding out terrorism. You may say I am a dreamer, but I don't think I am the only one.

Yup, that's where we got ours. I wasn't aware you could get a 1000 free for Constitution Day. I'll call them first thing Monday morn.

Let me know if you find a printer and maybe we can negotiate an even better rate. Regards.

Softengine continually pointed to her watch indicating time was up, but 'they' didn't get it.

Whenever their little pacifist leader would look over, I would tap my sign ("Hellooooo What time is it?") and then point to my watch. He would then immediately look away. Chickensh.....

I could NOT get over that idiotic dancing he did....had me giggling to myself for the rest of the day. Everyone in TJ Maxx must have thought I was on something.

I think the dancing idiot must have gotten some drugs from the guy with the strawberry plantation. Actually I don't think that guy could have found an elephant in the strawberries, he was way wacked out.
Wasn't it a hoot! Thanks for coming.

One nice thing is that these young punks probably cannot find their polling place if they have even registered.

Maybe if we started blowing kisses at passers by and dancing jigs they would think we have better drugs. ;-)

A little more digging finds that he antis in Ft. Collins, CO. are actually a small group calling themselves the Center for Justice. Peace & Environment (CJPE). It seems that they are nothing more than a small band of folks under the umbrella of the Poudre Valley Green Party. Now why doesn't this surprise me.

They are linked to from many more organized groups which makes them seem much bigger than they are.

Biblically, piercing and rings, etc. are the mark of a slave. Rather fitting, I think.
